Overview#
Comforts is a mod that adds sleeping bags and hammocks to Minecraft. These items function similarly to vanilla beds but with a critical mechanical difference: they do not set a player's spawn point upon use. This allows adventurers to skip the night or day while safely preserving their home base spawn location.
Both sleeping bags and hammocks are available in all 16 Minecraft colors and offer unique benefits for exploration and time management. Sleeping bags are designed for portability and night-skipping, while hammocks are specialized for napping during the day to skip to sunset.
Items#
The mod introduces three primary items used for crafting and utility:
Sleeping Bag
Sleeping bags are portable beds that can be placed and used at night. Unlike beds, they are stackable in the inventory (up to 64 in modern versions), making them ideal for long-distance travel. When used, the player wakes up at dawn without their spawn point being moved.
Hammock Cloth
Hammock cloth is the main component of a hammock. It must be attached to Rope and Nails to create a functional sleeping structure. It is available in 16 colors and can be dyed or re-dyed.
Rope and Nail
Rope and Nails are the support structures required to hang a hammock. They are placed on the sides of blocks (traditionally wood logs) and serve as the anchor points for the hammock cloth.
Blocks#
Hammock
The hammock is a multi-block structure created by placing two Rope and Nail sets exactly four blocks apart and then right-clicking one with Hammock Cloth.
- Usage: Hammocks can only be used during the daytime.
- Effect: Sleeping in a hammock skips the time forward to dusk (just before sunset).
- Spawn Point: Like the sleeping bag, using a hammock does not change the player's spawn point.
