Overview#
Advanced Netherite is a configurable, open-source mod designed to extend the end-game experience of Minecraft. It introduces four new tiers of Netherite equipment: Iron-Netherite, Gold-Netherite, Emerald-Netherite, and Diamond-Netherite. Each tier is not merely a stat upgrade but provides unique functional benefits, such as pacifying specific hostile mobs or increasing resource yields while mining.
The mod follows a linear progression system where players must upgrade their gear sequentially through the tiers. It integrates seamlessly with the vanilla Smithing Table mechanics introduced in Minecraft, requiring specialized Smithing Templates and tiered ingots to advance.
Tiers and Materials#
The mod adds four distinct materials, each crafted by combining a base Netherite ingot with specific vanilla resources. Progression is linear: you must create an Iron-Netherite Ingot before you can craft a Gold-Netherite Ingot, and so on.

Advanced Netherite Smithing Template
Required for all gear upgrades in the Smithing Table. These templates can be found as rare loot in Bastion Remnant chests. The Treasure Room chest has a 100% spawn rate for the template. Once obtained, it can be duplicated using 7 Diamonds and 1 Netherrack.
Armor Sets and Perks#
Advanced Netherite armor provides superior protection and unique passive abilities (perks) that trigger when a full set is worn. All sets retain the fire resistance property of standard Netherite.

Tools and Weapons#
Tools in this mod offer increased durability, faster mining speeds, and higher attack damage. Additionally, certain tools have a chance to provide bonus drops when performing their primary function.

Special Tool Abilities
- Pickaxes: Each tier has a chance to drop additional raw materials corresponding to its type (e.g., Iron-Netherite Pickaxes drop extra Raw Iron; Diamond-Netherite Pickaxes drop extra Diamonds).
- Swords: Gold-Netherite Swords increase gold drops from Piglins and Zombie Piglins. Emerald-Netherite Swords have a chance for bonus mob loot.
- Hoes: All Advanced Netherite Hoes have a chance to provide extra crop yields when harvesting.
- Shovels/Axes: Primarily benefit from significantly increased speed and durability.
Special Equipment#
The mod extends Netherite tiers to equipment that vanilla Minecraft often overlooks, including Bows, Crossbows, Shields, and Tridents.
- Advanced Netherite Bows: Feature higher durability and faster arrow velocity/draw speed compared to standard bows.
- Advanced Netherite Crossbows: Offer increased durability and reduced reload times.
- Advanced Netherite Shields: Boast extreme durability and can be decorated with banners just like vanilla shields.
- Advanced Netherite Tridents: Deal significantly more melee and ranged damage, with the Diamond-Netherite variant being the most powerful weapon in the mod.
Blocks#
For every tier of Advanced Netherite, there is a corresponding storage block. These blocks are crafted using 9 ingots of the respective tier.

Beacon Support: All Advanced Netherite blocks can be used to build beacon pyramids. Furthermore, the tiered ingots can be used as payment to activate beacon powers.
Crafting and Upgrading#
Upgrading gear is performed at the Smithing Table. The process requires three components:
- Smithing Template: The Advanced Netherite Smithing Template.
- Base Item: The gear from the previous tier (e.g., Netherite Chestplate for Iron-Netherite upgrade).
- Upgrade Material: The Advanced Netherite Ingot of the target tier.
Progression Path:
Vanilla Netherite Gear → Iron-Netherite Gear → Gold-Netherite Gear → Emerald-Netherite Gear → Diamond-Netherite Gear.
Note: Enchantments, Durability, and Custom Names are preserved during the upgrade process.
Mechanics and Configuration#
Fire Resistance
All items added by the mod are fireproof. If dropped in lava or fire, they will float on the surface and remain undamaged, similar to vanilla Netherite.
Configuration
The mod is highly customizable via the advancednetherite-common.toml configuration file. Server administrators and players can adjust:
- Armor Perks: Enable or disable specific neutrality effects (Phantoms, Piglins, Endermen).
- Tool Abilities: Adjust the chance and amount of bonus drops.
- Stat Scaling: Modify durability, protection, and damage values for every tier.
- Client Settings: Toggle matching durability bar colors to the tier material.
