Ultimate Car Mod Wiki

The Ultimate Car Mod is a comprehensive vehicle and infrastructure mod for Minecraft, featuring a realistic biodiesel production chain, customizable car crafting, and advanced road construction tools.

Overview#

The Ultimate Car Mod transforms Minecraft into a modern driving simulator. It introduces a deep, multi-stage fuel production system based on real-world biodiesel chemistry, a modular car crafting system with over 54,000 possible vehicle combinations, and a robust set of road-building blocks. Unlike simple vehicle mods, cars here require maintenance, fuel, and proper infrastructure to operate effectively. Vehicles are entities that feature realistic physics, sounds, and damage models.

Fuel Production#

Producing Biodiesel is a vital prerequisite for driving. The process involves several specialized machines and chemical stages.

Step 1: Canola Cultivation

  • Seeds: Obtain Canola Seeds by breaking tall grass, similar to wheat seeds.
  • Farming: Plant and harvest Canola just like wheat.
  • Oil Mill: Place Canola into an Oil Mill to produce Canola Oil.
  • Byproduct: You receive Canola Cake, which can be used to breed animals (cows, sheep, etc.).

Step 2: Methanol Extraction

  • Blast Furnace: Place Wood Logs into the Blast Furnace to produce Methanol through pyrolysis.
  • Byproduct: This process produces Charcoal as a byproduct.

Step 3: Chemical Reaction

  • Backmix Reactor: Connect the Oil Mill and Blast Furnace to a Backmix Reactor using Fluid Pipes and Fluid Extractors.
  • Mixing: The reactor combines Canola Oil and Methanol into a mixture. This machine requires energy (FE/RF) to operate.

Step 4: Decantation

  • Split Tank: Pump the mixture into a Split Tank. This block does not require energy but takes time to separate the fluids.
  • Outputs: The tank outputs Biodiesel (the fuel) and Glycerin (currently a byproduct that must be drained to keep the process running).

Fuel Logistics

Block Function
Fluid Pipe Transports liquids between machines.
Fluid Extractor Must be placed on the output side of a machine to pull fluids into pipes.
Fluid Filter Placed inside an extractor to ensure only one type of fluid enters a pipe network.
Tank Stores up to 16,000mb (16 buckets) of fluid. Placing tanks side-by-side connects them.
Fuel Station Used to refuel cars. Can be filled via pipes or canisters.

Car Crafting & Customization#

Cars are built using the Car Workshop, a 3x3 multiblock structure consisting of one central Workshop block surrounded by eight Workshop Parts.

Essential Components

To spawn a car, you must place the following parts into the Workshop GUI:

  1. Body: Determines the car's base model and color. Available in Wooden (all wood types), SUV, Sports Car, and Transporter (16 colors).
  2. Engine:
    • 3-Cylinder: Standard speed and consumption.
    • 6-Cylinder: High speed, high fuel consumption.
    • Truck Engine: High torque, most fuel-efficient.
  3. Wheels:
    • Small Wheels: Standard for most cars.
    • Big Wheels: Required for SUVs.
  4. Fuel Tank:
    • Small: 500mb capacity.
    • Medium: 1,000mb capacity.
    • Large: 1,500mb capacity.

Optional Attachments

  • License Plate Holder: Allows mounting a custom License Plate.
  • Bumper: Cosmetic protection for wooden cars.
  • Container: Adds extra inventory space to Transporters.
  • Tank Container: Allows Transporters to carry up to 64,000mb of fluid.

Vehicle Operation#

Driving in the Ultimate Car Mod is more complex than standard Minecraft movement.

Controls

  • R: Hold to start the engine. Starting time is affected by engine temperature and damage.
  • I: Open the car's dashboard/inventory while inside.
  • W/S: Accelerate and Reverse.
  • A/D: Steering.
  • H: Sound the horn.
  • Space: Handbrake.
  • Shift + Right-Click: Access car inventory from the outside.

Mechanics

  • Fuel: Cars spawn with 10% fuel. If you run out, you can push the car by sneaking against it.
  • Battery: The car has an internal battery (500 RF). If empty, the car won't start. Recharge by driving or inserting a charged battery item.
  • Damage: Cars take damage from collisions, water, and lava. Damage reduces top speed and increases engine start time. Repair cars in the Workshop or with a Repair Kit (5% repair).
  • Locking: Every crafted car comes with two Keys. Right-click a key within 25 blocks to lock/unlock. Keys can be duplicated in a crafting table with an Iron Ingot.

Road Construction#

Cars drive significantly faster on Asphalt than on natural terrain. Most cars (except the SUV) can only climb half-block heights, making slopes essential.

Road Blocks

  • Asphalt: The base road block.
  • Asphalt Slopes/Slabs: Used for elevation changes.
  • Crash Barriers: Prevent cars from sliding off the road.
  • Signs: Can be placed and edited with up to 4 lines of text on both sides.

Road Markings

Using the Painter (White) or Yellow Painter, players can apply 27 different markings (lines, arrows, etc.) to asphalt.

  • Change Marking: Sneak + Right-click with a painter to open the selection menu.
  • Apply: Right-click an asphalt block.
  • Remove: Use a Screwdriver to rotate or remove markings.

Energy System#

The mod uses a standard FE (Forge Energy) system to power fuel production machines.

Block Description
Dynamo A manual power source. Place a Crank on top and right-click to generate energy.
Generator A high-efficiency power source. Requires Biodiesel and an Engine to operate.
Cable Connects energy sources (Dynamo/Generator) to machines (Oil Mill/Reactor).

Tools & Items#

Maintenance Tools

  • Wrench: Used to rotate blocks and dismantle cars (hit twice quickly).
  • Screwdriver: Adjusts road markings and dismantles cars.
  • Hammer: Used for car dismantling.
  • Canister: Holds 1,000mb of fuel. Shift + Right-click a Fuel Station to fill; use in the car's GUI to refuel.

Crafting Components

  • Car Parts: Includes Engines (3-cyl, 6-cyl, Truck), Wheels, Axles, Seats, and Windshields.
  • License Plate: Can be written on by right-clicking and then applied to a car with a holder.
