Overview#
The Outvoted mod aims to bring the 'scrapped' concepts from Mojang's annual Mob Votes to life. While these entities were officially discarded after losing to the Phantom, Glow Squid, and Allay, this mod integrates them into the game with high-quality models, animations, and vanilla-friendly mechanics.
In addition to the mobs themselves, the mod introduces a variety of utility items and equipment derived from these creatures, such as craftable Tridents and specialized shields. For players seeking an in-game guide, the mod supports the Patchouli manual, which provides detailed lore and instructions on how to interact with each new entity.
Hostile Mobs#
The Hovering Inferno (Wildfire)
The Wildfire is a powerful, mini-boss variant of the Blaze. It is surrounded by four rotating shields that make it nearly invulnerable until they are destroyed.
- Spawn: Nether Fortresses and occasionally randomly throughout the Nether.
- Behavior: It attacks by firing waves of fireballs in all directions. As its health decreases, its attack speed and the number of fireballs increase. It can also perform a shockwave attack to knock back players who get too close.
-
Stats: Attribute Value Health 40 (Base) / 120 (With Shields) Armor 10 Drops Blaze Rods, Shattered Blaze Piece, Inferno Helmet (Rare)
Monster of the Ocean Depths (Barnacle/Kraken)
A terrifying aquatic predator that makes deep oceans significantly more dangerous.
- Spawn: Deep Ocean biomes.
- Behavior: It uses its long tongue to snag players and boats, dragging them deep underwater to drown them. It has a large aggro range and moves quickly in water.
-
Stats: Attribute Value Health 35 Attack 5 + Drowning acceleration Drops Kraken Tooth
The Great Hunger
A camouflaging predator that acts like a living bear trap.
- Spawn: Deserts, Swamps, and Badlands.
- Behavior: It burrows into the ground, appearing as a flat texture (sand, red sand, or grass). When a player or mob walks over it, it snaps shut, dealing heavy damage and applying Slowness. It has the unique ability to 'consume' enchantments from items thrown at it.
-
Stats: Attribute Value Health 30 Attack 6 + Slowness Drops Void Heart, Bottle o' Enchanting
Iceologer
A cold-hearted Illager variant that masters the elements of frost.
- Spawn: Snowy Mountains and Tundra at night.
- Behavior: It summons large blocks of ice above the player's head. These ice blocks hover briefly before crashing down, dealing area-of-effect damage and freezing the target.
-
Stats: Attribute Value Health 40 Drops Blue Ice, Totem of Freezing
Passive & Utility Mobs#
Moobloom
A flower-covered cow that shares a symbiotic relationship with bees.
- Spawn: Flower Forest biomes.
- Behavior: As it walks, it leaves a trail of yellow flowers (Buttercups). Bees are naturally attracted to Mooblooms and will follow them to pollinate. Players can shear a Moobloom to obtain flowers, which reverts it to a normal cow.
-
Stats: Attribute Value Health 10 Drops Beef, Leather, Buttercups (if sheared)
Copper Golem
A small, player-crafted automaton with a love for buttons.
- Creation: Built by placing a Carved Pumpkin on top of a Copper Block.
- Behavior: It wanders around and randomly presses nearby Copper Buttons. Over time, the Copper Golem will oxidize through four stages (Normal, Exposed, Weathered, Oxidized). In its final stage, it turns into a static statue. Oxidation can be removed with an Axe or prevented by waxing it with Honeycomb.
Glare
A small, flying creature that helps players identify dangerous dark spots.
- Spawn: Lush Caves and dark underground areas.
- Behavior: It flies toward areas where the light level is low enough for hostile mobs to spawn (Light Level 0). When it finds such a spot, it becomes grumpy and makes distinct noises to alert the player.
Items & Equipment#
Specialized Gear
| Item | Source | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Inferno Helmet | Wildfire Drop | Provides permanent Fire Resistance while worn, but loses durability over time in fire/lava. |
| Inferno Shield | Crafting | Lights attackers on fire when their melee hits are blocked. Higher durability than a standard shield. |
| Void Heart | Great Hunger Drop | Used to reset the 'Too Expensive!' anvil cost on tools and armor. |
| Kraken Tooth | Barnacle Drop | Primary material for crafting Tridents. |
| Totem of Freezing | Iceologer Drop | When held, it can slow or freeze nearby enemies. |
Materials
- Shattered Blaze Piece: Dropped by Wildfires; used to craft the Inferno Shield Part.
- Prismarine Rod: A sturdy rod crafted from Prismarine Bricks, used as a handle for high-tier aquatic tools.
- Buttercup: A new yellow flower dropped by Mooblooms.
Recipes#
The mod introduces several new crafting and smithing recipes to make previously uncraftable vanilla items accessible.
Crafting Table Recipes

- 1x Prismarine Rod (bottom center)
Inferno Shield Part
- 1x Shattered Blaze Piece (center)
- 8x Polished Blackstone (surrounding)
Copper Button
- 1x Copper Ingot = 1x Copper Button
Smithing Table Recipes
Inferno Shield
- Base: Shield
- Addition: Inferno Shield Part
Construction
Copper Golem
- Place a Copper Block on the ground.
- Place a Carved Pumpkin or Jack o' Lantern on top of the block to summon the golem.
Mechanics#
Anvil Cost Reset
The Void Heart is a powerful utility item. By combining a tool or weapon with a Void Heart in a crafting grid or anvil, the 'Prior Work Penalty' (which causes the 'Too Expensive!' message) is reset. This allows players to continue repairing and enchanting their favorite gear indefinitely.
Oxidation
Similar to Copper Blocks, the Copper Golem and Copper Buttons change color over time.
- Unaffected: Bright orange.
- Exposed: Slightly green tint.
- Weathered: Mostly green.
- Oxidized: Fully green.
At the final stage, the Copper Golem ceases to move and becomes a decorative statue. Using an Axe on the golem will revert it by one oxidation stage. Using Honeycomb will 'Wax' the golem, locking it in its current stage forever.
