Overview#
Autumnity is a major expansion mod for Minecraft that focuses on the beauty and atmosphere of the autumn season. It introduces several new biomes characterized by vibrant foliage, new wood types, and unique wildlife. The mod is designed to integrate seamlessly with the vanilla experience while providing deep mechanics such as syrup tapping, pancake stacking, and specialized snail-based alchemy.

Biomes#
Autumnity adds several biomes that bring the fall season to life. These biomes are the primary source of Maple trees and the mod's unique mobs.
Maple Forest
The flagship biome of the mod, filled with Maple trees of various colors (Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green). These forests often feature large mushrooms and are the natural habitat for Snails.
Pumpkin Fields
A rare, open biome where the ground is dotted with pumpkins and giant pumpkins. Turkeys are frequently found roaming these fields.
Spotted Forests
Variants of existing biomes that have been 'spotted' with autumnal colors:
- Orange Spotted Dark Forest: A dark forest variant with orange maple trees.
- Red Spotted Taiga: A taiga variant featuring red maple trees.
- Yellow Spotted Forest: A standard forest variant with yellow maple trees.
Mobs#
Snail
Snails are passive, shy creatures found in Maple Forests and Pumpkin Fields. They are the primary source of Snail Slime and Shell Pieces.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 4 (2 Hearts) |
| Behavior | Passive / Shy |
| Breeding Item | Mushroom Stew, Suspicious Stew |
| Drops | Snail Shell Piece (when growing up) |
Behavior:
- Shyness: Snails will retreat into their shells if a player approaches without sneaking or if they take damage.
- Slime Trails: When fed mushrooms or fungi, snails produce a trail of snail slime on the ground which can be harvested.
- Growth: When a baby snail grows into an adult, it sheds a Snail Shell Piece.
- Easter Eggs: Naming a snail 'nautilus' or 'snake' with a name tag will change its model and texture.
Turkey
Turkeys are large birds that inhabit Maple Forests and Pumpkin Fields. While generally passive, they are more defensive than chickens.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 10 (5 Hearts) |
| Behavior | Passive (Defensive) |
| Breeding Item | Foul Berries |
| Drops | Raw Turkey, Feathers |
Behavior:
- Retaliation: Unlike chickens, turkeys will attack the player back if they are struck.
- Egg Laying: Turkeys lay Turkey Eggs, which can be thrown to spawn baby turkeys.

Blocks#
Maple Wood Set
Maple trees provide a complete wood set including Logs, Planks, Stairs, Slabs, Fences, Doors, Trapdoors, Signs, and Boats. The wood has a warm, slightly orange tint.
Sappy Maple Log
When stripping a Maple Log with an axe, there is a chance it will become a Sappy Maple Log. These logs are the source of Maple Sap.
Snail Slime Block
Crafted from 9 Snail Slime. It is a sticky block similar to the Slime Block but with unique properties:
- Stickiness: It is sticky on all sides, including the bottom, allowing entities to hang from it.
- Slippery State: If placed next to water or a wet sponge, it becomes slippery instead of sticky, losing its adhesive properties.
Pancakes
Pancakes are a placeable food block. Up to 16 pancakes can be stacked on a single block. They can be eaten slice by slice like a cake.
Giant Pumpkins
Found in Pumpkin Fields, these are large 2x2x2 structures of pumpkins. They can be carved using Shears to create Giant Carved Pumpkins, which can then be turned into Large Jack o' Lanterns.

Items#
Food Items
- Maple Syrup: Obtained by smelting a Sap Bottle. It can be eaten or used in recipes like Pancakes and Pumpkin Bread.
- Raw/Cooked Turkey: Turkey meat can be placed on the ground like a cake and eaten in pieces, or crafted into Turkey Legs for standard consumption.
- Foul Berries: Harvested from Foul Berry Bushes. Eating them provides the 'Foul Taste' effect.
Equipment
- Snail Shell Chestplate: Crafted from 8 Snail Shell Pieces. It provides 5 armor points. When the wearer sneaks, they gain Resistance III and significant knockback resistance.
Materials
- Snail Slime: Harvested from the trails left by snails. Used for crafting Slime Blocks and brewing.
- Snail Shell Piece: Obtained when baby snails grow up. Used for the Snail Shell Chestplate and decorative Snail Shell Bricks/Tiles.

Mechanics & Alchemy#
Syrup Production
- Locate a Maple Tree and strip its logs with an Axe.
- If the log becomes a Sappy Maple Log, right-click it with a Glass Bottle to collect a Sap Bottle.
- Smelt the Sap Bottle in a furnace to produce a Syrup Bottle.
Potion Effects
- Extension: Brewed by adding Snail Slime to an Awkward Potion. This effect increases the duration of all other active potion effects by several seconds.
- Foul Taste: Inflicted by eating Foul Berries. While active, the next food item consumed will replenish 50% more hunger and saturation than usual.
- Anti-Healing (Life Stasis): Prevents the player or mob from regenerating health. Brewed using Foul Berry Leaves (or Foul Berries in older versions).
