Overview#
Consistency+ is designed to bridge the gaps in Minecraft's building palette. While vanilla Minecraft provides variants like stairs and slabs for some materials (like Oak or Cobblestone), many others (like Concrete, Terracotta, and Glass) are left incomplete. This mod fixes those inconsistencies by adding thousands of new decorative blocks, ensuring that every material has a full suite of building options.
The mod focuses on a "Full Set" philosophy, meaning if a material exists, it should ideally have stairs, slabs, walls, fences, and more. It also introduces a logical progression for stone-like materials, moving from base blocks to polished, brick, cut, and tile versions.
Material Sets#
Consistency+ organizes its blocks into "Material Sets." Each set typically includes a wide range of variants. Below are the primary materials supported:
Colored Sets (16 Colors Each)
- Concrete: Adds Stairs, Slabs, Walls, Buttons, and Pressure Plates for all 16 colors.
- Terracotta: Adds Stairs, Slabs, Walls, Buttons, and Pressure Plates for all 16 colors plus the natural (uncolored) variant.
- Glazed Terracotta: Adds Stairs, Slabs, and Walls. These maintain their unique directional patterns.
- Wool: Adds Stairs, Slabs, Walls, Buttons, and Pressure Plates.
- Glass: Adds Stairs, Slabs, and Walls for Clear and all 16 Stained Glass colors.
Stone and Mineral Sets
- Stone Types: Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Tuff, Calcite, and Dripstone receive expanded variants including Bricks, Tiles, and Cut versions.
- Nether Materials: Netherrack, Nether Brick, Red Nether Brick, Quartz, Blackstone, and Basalt.
- End Materials: End Stone and Purpur.
- Special Minerals: Obsidian and Crying Obsidian (including rare Obsidian Slabs and Stairs).
- Sandstones: Sandstone and Red Sandstone receive expanded Cut and Carved variants.
Wood Sets
- All Wood Types: Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Mangrove, Cherry, Bamboo, Crimson, and Warped.
- Variants: Adds missing Signs, Hanging Signs (1.20+), Buttons, Pressure Plates, Trapdoors, and Doors where vanilla may be inconsistent.
Block Types and Variants#
The mod adds specific block types to ensure every material is versatile for builders.
| Block Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Stairs & Slabs | Standard half-block and diagonal variants for almost every solid material. |
| Walls | Connecting wall segments for materials like Concrete, Glass, and Terracotta. |
| Fences & Gates | Decorative boundaries for non-wood materials. |
| Buttons & Plates | Functional redstone components that match the material's texture. |
| Pillars | Vertical decorative columns, similar to Quartz Pillars, for many stone types. |
| Chiseled & Carved | Decorative blocks with unique engraved patterns. |
| Cut & Tiles | Clean, gridded textures for modern or structured builds. |
| Vertical Slabs | (In specific versions) Slabs that can be placed vertically for wall detailing. |

Mobs and Entities#
While primarily a building mod, Consistency+ includes a few unique entities and "easter egg" mobs inspired by community memes and other games.
Nubert
Nubert is a small, red, blob-like creature (inspired by Deltarune).
- Spawn: Rare spawn in various biomes.
- Behavior: Passive. They generally wander around and are loved by everyone.
- Drops: None (standard) or small decorative items.
- Variants: Includes the Wigged Nubert, a version of the mob wearing a wig.
Nubert Minecarts
A special functional minecart variant that features Nubert riding inside. It behaves like a standard minecart but serves as a decorative and fun alternative for rail systems.
Crafting and Recipes#
Consistency+ follows vanilla-friendly crafting logic. Most blocks can be crafted using a standard Crafting Table or more efficiently via the Stonecutter.
Progression System
Most stone-based materials follow a 2x2 crafting progression:
- Base Block → 2x2 → Polished
- Polished → 2x2 → Bricks
- Bricks → 2x2 → Cut
- Cut → 2x2 → Tiles
Specialized Recipes
- Chiseled to Carved: Placing 4 Chiseled blocks in a 2x2 pattern creates the Carved variant.
- Stonecutter: It is highly recommended to use a Stonecutter. It provides a 1:1 ratio for all variants (1 Block = 1 Stair, 1 Slab, 1 Wall, etc.), saving significant resources compared to the crafting table.
Recipe Tweaks
In some versions, the mod modifies vanilla recipes to be more consistent:
- Buttons: Often yield 4 instead of 1.
- Pressure Plates: Often yield 2 or more instead of 1.
- Stairs: Yield 6 instead of 4.
Mechanics and Redstone#
The new functional blocks added by Consistency+ behave according to their material properties:
- Redstone Sensitivity: Buttons and Pressure Plates added by the mod follow the behavior of their base material. Wooden-based variants can be activated by arrows and items, while Stone-based (and Concrete/Terracotta) variants require a player or mob to step on them.
- Light Transparency: Glass Stairs, Slabs, and Walls allow light to pass through, making them ideal for modern lighting fixtures and windows.
- Blast Resistance: Obsidian variants (Stairs, Slabs, Walls) retain the high blast resistance of standard Obsidian, allowing for decorative but explosion-proof fortifications.
Configuration#
Consistency+ is highly customizable. Users can modify the mod's behavior through the consistency_plus.json (or similar) file located in the config folder of the Minecraft directory.
- Enable/Disable Sets: Players can toggle entire material sets (e.g., disable all Concrete variants) to save on block IDs or simplify the creative menu.
- Recipe Overrides: Toggle whether the mod should apply its custom yield increases to vanilla recipes.
- Stonecutter Integration: Options to enable or disable specific stonecutter tags for compatibility with other mods.
FAQ and Troubleshooting#
Q: Why can't I see the recipes in my crafting table? A: It is recommended to use a mod like JEI (Just Enough Items) to view all recipes. Additionally, ensure you have the Architectury API installed, as it is a required dependency.
Q: Do the glass walls connect to glass panes? A: Yes, the mod is designed so that Glass Walls and other connecting blocks follow standard vanilla connection logic, allowing them to blend with panes and other solid blocks.
Q: Is this mod compatible with other decoration mods? A: Generally, yes. Consistency+ uses standard tags, meaning its blocks should work with other mods that utilize the Stonecutter or specific material tags.
