Guide to CB Multipart: the core multipart library that lets several functional parts share one block space, what it does, and how to install it as a dependency.

Overview#

CB Multipart is a core library that allows multiple functional parts to occupy the same block space. It provides the multipart framework — part placement, collision, occlusion, rendering and networking — that other mods build on so small components can be combined inside a single block.

CB Multipart adds no items or blocks of its own. It is a dependency: you install it only because another mod requires it.

What It Provides#

  • A shared block that can hold several parts at once (for example cover plates, gadgets, wires or machine parts).
  • Multipart placement and interaction handling, so parts can be added to or removed from the same block.
  • Occlusion and collision so parts do not overlap illegally.
  • Rendering and network sync for parts contributed by dependent mods.

Getting Started#

  1. Install the required core library (Code Chicken Lib).
  2. Install CB Multipart.
  3. Install the mod that requires CB Multipart.

That is all — CB Multipart works in the background. You will not see a new creative tab from CB Multipart itself; its features appear through the mods that use it.

Compatibility#

CB Multipart requires Code Chicken Lib. It is a dependency library used by multipart-based mods. Keep the library and the mods that use it on matching builds for best results.

Troubleshooting#

  • Game will not start / missing dependency: make sure Code Chicken Lib is installed alongside CB Multipart.
  • A mod says it needs CB Multipart: install this library and place it with your other mods.
  • Parts not appearing: confirm the mod that provides the parts is installed and up to date.
