Deep Mob Learning: Refabricated Mod Wiki

A comprehensive guide to Deep Mob Learning: Refabricated, a modern rework of the classic mob loot simulation mod for Fabric, featuring virtual mob training, loot fabrication, and intense glitch trials.

Overview#

Deep Mob Learning: Refabricated is a server-friendly alternative to traditional mob farming. Instead of building massive, lag-inducing mob grinders, players can "train" digital Data Models by defeating mobs or running simulations. These models are then used to generate Pristine Matter, which can be processed into specific mob drops like Wither Skeletons' skulls, Ender Pearls, or even Nether Stars.

This version is a modern rework specifically for the Fabric mod loader (1.19.2, 1.20.1+), introducing new mechanics like the Data Synthesizer, Modular Armor, and Pristine Energy while maintaining the core loop of the original mod.

Getting Started#

To begin your journey into digital mob hunting, you must first acquire the base materials and the handheld tracking device.

Soot-covered Redstone

The foundation of most recipes in the mod. To obtain it, Left-click a Block of Coal with Redstone Dust in your hand. This will consume the redstone and produce Soot-covered Redstone.

The Deep Learner

The Deep Learner is a handheld device that houses your Data Models.

  • Usage: Right-click to open its GUI. It has 4 slots for Data Models.
  • Function: While a Data Model is inside an active Deep Learner in your inventory, killing the corresponding mob will grant "Data" to that model, eventually leveling it up.

Data Models#

Data Models are the core of the mod. Each model represents a specific mob type (e.g., Zombie, Creeper, Blaze). You start with a Blank Data Model and "attune" it by crafting it with a drop from the target mob.

Model Tiers

As you kill mobs or run simulations, your Data Model levels up through five tiers. Higher tiers provide a significantly higher chance of producing Pristine Matter in the Simulation Chamber.

Tier Kills Required to Reach Simulation Success Rate
Faulty 0 (Starting) 5%
Basic 6 11%
Advanced 12 (18 total) 24%
Superior 30 (48 total) 35%
Self Aware 50 (98 total) 42%

Note: Simulations also grant a small amount of data (10% of a kill per cycle), allowing for passive leveling.

Core Machines#

The mod adds several specialized machines to process data and matter. All machines require energy (FE/RF) to operate.

Simulation Chamber

The Simulation Chamber is where the virtual hunting happens.

  • Input: Requires a Data Model, Polymer Clay, and Energy.
  • Output: Produces Living Matter (Overworldian, Hellish, etc.) 100% of the time and has a chance (based on tier) to produce Pristine Matter specific to that mob.

Loot Fabricator

The Loot Fabricator converts Pristine Matter into actual items.

  • Usage: Place Pristine Matter in the center slot. You can then select which specific drop you want to "fabricate" from a list of available outputs for that mob type.
  • Example: Pristine Zombie Matter can produce Rotten Flesh, Iron Ingots, Carrots, or Potatoes.

Data Synthesizer

A new addition to the Refabricated version. It is used for advanced data processing and generating Pristine Energy for modular equipment.

Trials and Glitches#

Trials are high-stakes combat challenges used to obtain Glitch Hearts, which are essential for end-game gear.

Starting a Trial

  1. Attune a Trial Key: Kill a mob while holding a Trial Key and having the corresponding Data Model in your Deep Learner.
  2. Prepare the Keystone: Place a Trial Keystone in an open area.
  3. Insert Key: Right-click the Keystone with your attuned key. The tier of the trial is determined by the tier of the Data Model used to attune it.

The Combat

Waves of mobs will spawn. You must defeat them within the time limit. Higher-tier trials have more waves and Affixes (random modifiers like Speed, Regeneration, or Blaze Invaders).

System Glitches

During trials, a System Glitch may spawn. These are powerful, glowing entities that deal high damage. Defeating them drops Glitch Hearts.

  • Glitch Hearts: Can be crushed against Obsidian (Left-click) to create Unstable Glitch Fragments.
  • Glitch Infused Ingot: Throw an Unstable Glitch Fragment into water along with a Gold Ingot and Lapis Lazuli to create this powerful material.

Equipment and Armor#

Glitch Infused Gear

  • Glitch Infused Sword: Deals massive damage to System Glitches and grants 2x Data per mob kill. It requires energy and cannot be enchanted.
  • Modular Armor: In the Refabricated version, armor no longer has tiers. Instead, it uses Pristine Energy (generated from Pristine Matter) to activate modular effects such as Creative Flight, fall damage immunity, and enhanced protection.

Living Matter Transmutation

Living Matter (Overworldian, Hellish, Extraterrestrial, Twilight) can be used in a crafting table to transmute common items into rarer ones from that dimension. For example, Extraterrestrial Matter + Apple = Chorus Fruit.

While JEI/REI is highly recommended for viewing all recipes, here are the core components:
