During the era when children watched anime on television, Sailor Moon served as one of the motivating factors that prompted me to finish my homework ahead of schedule. However, whenever I watched the show, I sometimes mistook Sailor Venus for Sailor Moon. Both characters possess similar physical features, including the same body type, hair color, and blue eyes. According to Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon, this was a deliberate decision in case Minako needed to impersonate Usagi as a decoy.

Being a huge Inuyasha fan, I found myself drawn to Sailor Mars due to her striking resemblance to Kagome. Both characters also share the role of priestess in their respective franchises, leading me to speculate that Kagome may have been a Sailor Senshi in a past life. Aside from that, Sailor Mars boasts one of the most impressive transformations, featuring swirling flames and striking red heels that exude a truly badass aura.

5. Sailor Jupiter

Rounding out the Inner Senshi is Sailor Jupiter, also known as Makoto Kino, the Guardian of Protection. Despite her slim build, she is considered the powerhouse of the group due to her superhuman strength.

Considering Sailor Saturn has the power to obliterate entire civilizations and galaxies, I was surprised by how unassuming she appears. Hotaru Tomoe, known as Sailor Saturn, serves as the Guardian of Destruction and possesses the Silence Glaive, a weapon capable of obliterating planets with a single strike. Despite her formidable abilities, she only utilizes her apocalyptic powers as a last resort to bring conflicts to an end.

7. Sailor Uranus

Sailor Uranus, the headstrong and captivating member of the Outer Senshi, boasts numerous qualities to admire. One of her most potent abilities is “World Shaking,” in which she draws energy from the sky to unleash a devastating attack on her foes.

8. Sailor Neptune

The ’90s English dub of Sailor Moon significantly altered the dynamic between Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus to the detriment of their characters. Instead of portraying the two Guardians as lovers, the producers chose to label them as “cousins,” which vastly understated the nature of their relationship. Despite this, Sailor Neptune, also known as Michiru Kaiou, possesses qualities that make her stand out beyond being Sailor Uranus’ partner. Usagi describes her as the epitome of a princess for her poise, refinement, and intelligence.

9. Sailor Pluto

Although Pluto is no longer recognized as a planet, it does not diminish Sailor Pluto’s critical role in safeguarding the solar system. As the leader of the Outer Senshi, she possesses one of the most impressive abilities of all the Guardians: the power to halt time. Tragically, the use of this ability results in her demise, although the Guardian of the Underworld appears to be undeterred by this consequence.

10. Tuxedo Mask

If you were an avid viewer of the original ’90s Sailor Moon series, it’s likely that you developed a crush on the debonair Tuxedo Mask, also known as Mamoru Chiba. This handsome young man was not only adored by audiences in the real world, but also by two Sailor Senshi, ultimately falling for Sailor Moon herself.
