Tree Chop lets you fell an entire tree by breaking a single log with an axe. Instead of tediously mining every log block one at a time, you chop the trunk and the whole tree comes down at once, dropping all of its wood in a single action.

This is sustainable, whole-tree felling: you still use a normal axe and gather the same amount of wood, so woodcutting stays balanced and keeps its survival feel - it just becomes far faster and less repetitive. It is a great quality-of-life companion for survival worlds, skyblock, and large building projects, and it works both in single-player and on multiplayer servers.

Getting started is simple - there is nothing to craft and no setup required:

1. Equip any axe (wooden, stone, iron, gold, diamond or netherite - they all work).
2. Find a tree that still has its leaves.
3. Break any one of its log blocks.

The entire tree is felled at once and all of its logs drop for you to pick up. If you break a log with a tool that is not an axe, the block breaks normally, so you always stay in control of when a whole-tree chop happens.

Press the N key in-game to open the Tree Chop settings screen, where you can adjust how chopping behaves:

• Chopping - the master toggle that turns whole-tree chopping on or off.
• Sneaking inverts chopping - hold sneak to temporarily flip the behaviour, so you can instantly switch between felling a whole tree and breaking just a single block.
• Trees must have leaves - only chop trees that still have leaves attached, so you don't accidentally fell player-built log structures.
• Chop in creative mode - choose whether whole-tree chopping also applies while you are in creative mode.
• Chopping indicator - show an on-screen indicator so you always know when a chop is about to happen.
• Feedback messages - show short on-screen status messages, for example when you toggle a setting, so you get instant confirmation.

All options take effect immediately - there is no need to restart the game.

• Use Sneaking inverts chopping to switch between whole-tree felling and single-block breaking on the fly, instead of opening the menu every time.
• Keep Trees must have leaves enabled when you build with logs, so your creations are safe from accidental chopping.
• Turn on the Chopping indicator if you are unsure whether the block you are aiming at will trigger a whole-tree chop.
• It is perfect for clearing forests quickly on survival worlds and for gathering bulk wood for big building projects.
• Because it uses a normal axe and drops the same wood, it fits comfortably into balanced survival and modpack setups.

How do I chop a whole tree? Hold an axe and break any one of the tree's log blocks - the rest of the tree falls with it and drops all its wood.

Do I need a special tool? No. Any regular axe works, and non-axe tools break blocks the normal way.
