Overview#

The CameraCraft mod enhances the Minecraft experience by adding a comprehensive photography system. Players can craft various cameras, films, and processing equipment to take pictures within their world. These photos can then be printed, displayed as posters, or even imbued with teleportation capabilities. The mod offers both traditional film cameras and advanced digital cameras, each with unique features and crafting requirements.

Items#

Camera

A basic device used to capture images. It operates with films, which store the taken photos. To use, place a film in its inventory (accessed by Shift-Right Clicking) and then Right-Click or press 'P' to take a picture.

Digital Camera

An advanced version of the camera that uses memory cards instead of films. It offers several advantages, including the ability to view and delete photos directly on the camera, and a larger storage capacity of 50 photos compared to the standard camera's 36. It requires batteries to function.

Black and White Film

A consumable item used with the standard camera to store black and white photographs. Films must be processed before photos can be viewed or printed.

Color Film

Similar to black and white film, but captures images in color. Also requires processing.

Processed Film

Films that have been run through a Photo Processor, making their stored images accessible for printing.

Battery

Used to power the Digital Camera. Batteries come in different voltage ratings (e.g., 1-volt, 3-volt, 5-volt, 7-volt), with each volt allowing for one photo to be taken. The digital camera automatically draws new batteries from a stack in the player's inventory as needed.

Memory Card

Required for the Digital Camera to store photographs.

Teleportation Battery

A special battery used to activate the teleportation effect of Teleportation Photos. Each battery has 10 uses and can be stacked up to 16.

Transparent Filter

An item that can be placed in the camera's additional slot to apply color filters to photos. It can be dyed with yellow, blue, red, or green dyes to create specific color effects.

Photo

An in-game item representing a captured image. Each photo stores its name (chosen by the player), the name of the player who took it, and the location where it was taken. Right-clicking a photo in the hotbar displays its properties and the image itself. Owners can rename their photos.

Poster

A photo that has been printed and can be placed on walls as decoration. Right-clicking a placed poster displays the image and its properties, similar to holding the photo item.

Teleportation Photo/Poster

Photos or posters combined with an Ender Pearl gain a glowing effect and a teleportation capability. When used, a teleport button appears, allowing the player to instantly return to the location where the photo was taken. Requires a Teleportation Battery to function in Survival mode. When placed on a wall, a teleportation poster can be walked through.

Blocks#

Photo Processor

This block is essential for developing films. Players insert a film containing photos and a bucket of water to convert it into a Processed Film.

Photo Station

The primary block for printing photos. Players can insert a Processed Film or Memory Card, select desired photos, choose their size (up to 4x4 blocks), and print them onto paper. The Photo Station requires paper and dyes (yellow, cyan, magenta) as ink. It has an internal inventory and can also draw supplies from or store finished photos in adjacent chests.

Tripod

A utility block designed to hold cameras. When a camera is placed on a Tripod and the Tripod is powered by Redstone, the camera will automatically take a photo. This allows for timed shots or remote activation. Note that the camera's inventory cannot be accessed while it is on a Tripod; it must be picked up first.

Mechanics#

Taking Photos

With a standard camera, players insert a film and then Right-Click or press 'P' to take a picture. Digital cameras require a memory card and charged batteries. After taking a photo, players are prompted to name it.

Film Processing

Films filled with photos must be processed using a Photo Processor. By placing a filled film and a bucket of water into the Photo Processor, the film is converted into a Processed Film, making its images ready for printing.

Photo Printing

The Photo Station is used to print photos. Players insert a Processed Film or Memory Card, select the desired images, and choose their print size (up to 4x4 blocks). Printing consumes paper and specific dyes (yellow, cyan, magenta) as ink, with larger prints requiring more materials. The Photo Station can interact with adjacent chests for supply and storage.

Photo Properties and Display

Each photo records its name, the player who took it, and the location of capture. These properties, along with the image, can be viewed by Right-Clicking the photo item. Photos can be transformed into Posters and placed on walls for decorative display.

Teleportation

Photos or posters can be enchanted with teleportation capabilities by combining them with an Ender Pearl. These 'Teleportation Photos' allow players to instantly return to the exact spot where the photo was taken. In Survival mode, this action consumes a charge from a Teleportation Battery. Teleportation posters placed on walls can also be 'walked through' to initiate teleportation.

Filters

Photographic Filters can be inserted into a camera's dedicated slot to alter the color composition of captured images. Transparent Filters can be dyed to apply specific color effects (yellow, blue, red, green).
