It allows players to quickly look up any crafting recipe, including those introduced by other mods, without needing to exit the game or consult external resources. The core of CraftGuide is its graphical user interface (GUI), which presents a comprehensive list of all known crafting recipes. This GUI can be accessed either by using the CraftGuide Book item or by pressing a configurable hotkey (defaulting to 'G').

GUI Features

• Comprehensive Display: The GUI lists every crafting recipe available in the game, including shapeless recipes and those from other installed mods.
• Mod Grouping: Recipes from different mods are typically grouped together, making it easier to navigate to mod-specific sections of the list.
• Resizability: The GUI is resizable, allowing players to adjust its size to their preference, potentially viewing multiple columns of recipes at once. This is achieved by dragging a small blue triangular button located in the lower right corner of the interface.
• Filtering: Clicking on an item within the CraftGuide interface will filter the displayed recipes to show only those that either require that item as an input or produce it as an output.
• Searchable List: A search bar allows players to quickly filter recipes by item name, focusing on specific items or categories.
• Recipe Types: Small recipes and shapeless recipes are visually distinct, often indicated by unique background patterns.
• Furnace Recipes: Recipes that work in a regular furnace are listed separately, typically at the end of the main recipe list.
• Wildcard Support: Some items may display a '*' over their top right corner, indicating that any variation of that item (e.g., any color of wool, any durability of a tool) is accepted in the recipe.
• Ore Dictionary Support: An 'F' in the top left corner of an item icon signifies that it is a Forge ore dictionary item, meaning it accepts similar resources from other mods.

Navigation

CraftGuide offers several methods for navigating its extensive list of recipes:

• Scrollbar: A primary navigation tool, allowing players to quickly scroll through the list by dragging the slider up or down.
• Up/Down Buttons: Buttons located above and below the scrollbar enable navigation one or ten pages at a time.
• Keyboard Shortcuts: Standard navigation keys such as arrow keys, Page Up, Page Down, Home, and End can be used. Holding the Shift key while scrolling or using navigation keys multiplies the movement by ten.
• Mouse Wheel: The mouse wheel can be used for immediate scrolling, with an adjustable line count.

CraftGuide Book

The CraftGuide Book is an item that, when right-clicked, opens the CraftGuide GUI. While the GUI can also be opened via a hotkey, the book provides an in-world method of access. Early versions of the mod sometimes experienced crashes when crafting or using the book, though this issue may have been resolved in later updates.
