Overview#

Pokecube Revival is the definitive Pokémon experience for Minecraft, focusing on a seamless blend of the two franchises. Unlike other Pokémon mods that use turn-based menus, Pokecube features a Real-Time Combat System where battles occur directly in the game world. Pokemobs are designed with a blocky, Minecraft-faithful aesthetic and possess advanced AI that allows them to interact with the environment, defend their trainers, and even perform utility tasks like cutting trees or digging holes.

The mod includes a robust genetics system, breeding mechanics, and a functional industrial tier involving fossil reanimation and energy generation. It is built to be highly configurable, allowing players to adjust spawn rates, combat difficulty, and world-interaction features.

Getting Started#

Upon first joining a world, players are typically prompted with a starter selection GUI. If this does not appear, it can be triggered by right-clicking a Healing Table or through the configuration settings.

The Pokéwatch

The Pokéwatch is the central tool for any trainer. It serves as your Pokédex, move manager, and genetic analyzer.

  • Pokédex: View stats, types, and spawn locations for any Pokemob you have encountered.
  • Move Management: Change the order of your Pokemob's moves or select which move they should use next in combat.
  • Trainer Progress: Track your captures, badges, and achievements.

Controls

  • R: Send out or call back the selected Pokemob.
  • Arrow Keys (Left/Right): Cycle through your active Pokemobs.
  • Arrow Keys (Up/Down): Cycle through the selected Pokemob's moves.
  • G: Order your Pokemob to use its selected move on a target or location.

Pokémobs#

There are over 800 Pokemobs available, spanning multiple generations. They exhibit natural behaviors such as wandering, sleeping at night, and defending their territory.

Stats and Growth

Each Pokemob has six core stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. These are influenced by their Nature and Individual Values (IVs). Pokemobs gain Experience Points (EXP) by defeating other Pokemobs or vanilla mobs like Zombies and Creepers.

Spawning by Biome

Pokemobs spawn dynamically based on the biome and time of day. Below is a general guide to common spawns:

Biome Type Common Pokemobs

Greatcube 1.5x Higher success rate than standard.
Ultracube 2x High success rate.
Mastercube 255x Guaranteed capture; cannot be crafted.
Lovecube 8x Increased rate if the target is the opposite gender of your active Pokemob.
Luxurycube 1x Doubles the rate of happiness gain for the captured Pokemob.
Repeatcube 3x Increased rate if you have already caught this species.

Berries

Berries can be found on bushes in the wild and used as held items or crafting ingredients.

  • Oran Berry: Restores 10 HP.
  • Sitrus Berry: Restores 25% of max HP.
  • Pecha Berry: Cures Poison.
  • Jaboca Berry: Damages attackers who use physical moves on the holder.

Evolution Items

Many Pokemobs require specific items to evolve. These can be found in chests, traded from NPCs, or crafted.

  • Fire Stone: Evolves Eevee, Vulpix, Growlithe.
  • Water Stone: Evolves Eevee, Staryu, Shellder.
  • Thunder Stone: Evolves Eevee, Pikachu, Magnemite.
  • Leaf Stone: Evolves Exeggcute, Gloom, Weepinbell.
  • Mega Stones: Used to trigger Mega Evolution in combat for compatible species.

Blocks and Machines#

Essential Machines

  • Healing Table: Restores the HP and PP of all Pokemobs in your inventory. Can be right-clicked to access the starter selection menu if enabled.
  • PC (Storage System): Allows you to store and organize Pokemobs that aren't in your party. It features a search function and multiple boxes.
  • Fossil Reanimator (Splicing Device): Used to bring ancient Pokemobs back to life using Fossils and DNA samples.
  • Energy Siphon: Extracts Forge Energy (FE/RF) from Electric-type Pokemobs to power other machines.
  • Ability Field Amplifier (AFA): Broadcasts a Pokemob's ability over a large area (e.g., using a 'Drought' ability to stop rain).

Utility Blocks

  • Repel Block: Prevents wild Pokemobs from spawning within a set radius. Can be fueled with Berries.
  • Warp Pad: A teleportation block that can be linked to other pads for fast travel.
  • Daycare Block: Allows two Pokemobs to be left together to produce Eggs.

Mechanics#

Real-Time Combat

Combat in Pokecube is dynamic. When you send out a Pokemob, it will automatically target aggressive mobs or Pokemobs you attack. You can manually command moves using the Pokéwatch or hotkeys. Terrain plays a role; for example, Water-type moves are more effective in rain, and Fire-type moves can set blocks on fire.

Breeding and Genetics

Pokemobs have complex DNA consisting of genes for size, color (including Shiny status), and stats. Breeding two Pokemobs at a Daycare Block will result in an Egg that inherits traits from both parents. Using the Gene Splicer, advanced players can manipulate these genes to create the ultimate Pokemob.

World Interaction

Pokemobs are not just for fighting. By shift-right-clicking a Pokemob, you can toggle its "World Action" mode. Depending on their types and moves, they can:

  • Cut: Harvest trees and tall grass.
  • Dig: Mine blocks or dig holes.
  • Flash: Provide light in dark areas.
  • Teleport: Return the player to their last spawn point.

Most items in Pokecube Revival are craftable using standard Minecraft materials.
