Overview#

Draconic Evolution is a high-tier industrial and magical mod that pushes Minecraft's progression far beyond the limits of Netherite. Centered around the rare and powerful element Draconium, the mod introduces a multi-tiered progression system (Wyvern, Draconic, and Chaotic) that allows players to achieve near-invincibility and god-like utility.

Key features include:

  • Massive Energy Storage: Multiblock Energy Cores capable of storing quintillions of RF.
  • Modular Equipment: Tools and armor that can be customized with modules for flight, speed, and area-of-effect mining.
  • Fusion Crafting: A unique ritual-based crafting system for high-end materials.
  • Endgame Bosses: The Chaos Guardian, a dragon far more powerful than the Ender Dragon.
  • High-Risk Power: The Draconic Reactor, which provides immense energy but can vaporize entire bases if mismanaged.

Resources and Materials#

The mod's progression is gated by three primary materials, each requiring more effort to obtain than the last.

Draconium

Draconium is the foundational resource. It can be found as Draconium Ore in all three dimensions, though it is most abundant in The End.

  • Overworld/Nether: Rare, typically found at low Y-levels.
  • The End: Common on the outer islands. Each Ender Dragon kill also drops approximately 64 Draconium Dust.
  • Processing: Smelting Draconium Ore or Dust yields Draconium Ingots.

Awakened Draconium

Created by "awakening" Draconium through a Fusion Crafting ritual. It is required for Draconic-tier equipment and the Draconic Reactor.

  • Recipe: Typically involves 4 Draconium Blocks, Draconic Cores, and a Dragon Heart.
  • Dragon Heart: Dropped by the Ender Dragon (1 per kill) or the Chaos Guardian (2 per kill).

Chaos Shards

The ultimate material, obtained by defeating the Chaos Guardian and harvesting the Chaos Crystal at the heart of a Chaos Island. These are used for the final "Chaotic" tier of equipment.

Fusion Crafting#

Fusion Crafting is the primary method for creating advanced items. Unlike standard crafting tables, it is a multiblock ritual that requires energy and specific positioning.

Setup Components

  1. Fusion Crafting Core: The central block where the final item is produced.
  2. Fusion Crafting Injectors: Placed around the core (minimum 1 block away, maximum 16). These hold the secondary ingredients.

Tiers of Injectors

Tier Energy Transfer Rate Usage
Basic 1,000,000 RF/t Early Wyvern items
Wyvern 10,000,000 RF/t Draconic items, Awakened Draconium
Draconic 50,000,000 RF/t Chaotic items, Reactor components
Chaotic 250,000,000 RF/t Ultimate endgame upgrades

The Process

To craft, place the "catalyst" item in the Core's GUI and the required ingredients into the Injectors (right-click). Once the Core detects a valid recipe and has sufficient power, a "Start" button will appear. During the process, energy is drained from the injectors, and lightning effects will strike the core until the item is fused.

Energy Management#

Draconic Evolution is famous for its Energy Core, a massive multiblock storage unit that can be upgraded through eight tiers.

Energy Core Tiers

Tier Storage Capacity (RF/FE) Core Material
1 45.5 Million Draconium Blocks
2 273 Million Draconium Blocks
3 1.64 Billion Draconium Blocks
4 9.88 Billion Redstone Blocks
5 59.3 Billion Draconium Blocks
6 356 Billion Draconium Blocks
7 2.14 Trillion Draconium Blocks
8 9.22 Quintillion (Infinite) Awakened Draconium Blocks

Input and Output

Energy is moved in and out of the core using Energy Pylons.

  • Place a Pylon within 15 blocks of the core.
  • Place a Glass block on top of the Pylon to activate it.
  • Right-click the blue orb to toggle between Input (blue) and Output (orange) modes.

Energy Crystals

For wireless power distribution, the mod uses a crystal-based network:

  • I/O Crystals: Connect directly to machines or power sources.
  • Relay Crystals: Extend the range of the network.
  • Wireless Crystals: Charge players' armor and tools in a large radius.
  • Crystal Binder: The tool used to link crystals together (Shift+Right-click to select, Right-click to link).

Tools and Armor#

Equipment in Draconic Evolution is modular and powered by RF. By pressing the Config Key (Default: Shift + C), players can open a GUI to install and configure Modules.

Equipment Tiers

  1. Wyvern Tier: Entry-level powered gear. Provides basic flight, night vision, and increased mining speed.
  2. Draconic Tier: Advanced gear. Offers creative-style flight, massive energy shields, and 9x9x9 area mining.
  3. Chaotic Tier: The ultimate tier. Near-invincibility and the Staff of Power, which combines a pickaxe, shovel, axe, and sword into one devastating tool.

Essential Modules

  • Energy Modules: Increase the RF capacity of the item.
  • Shield Modules: Add an energy shield that absorbs damage before health is affected.
  • Speed/Jump Modules: Enhance movement capabilities.
  • AOE Modules: Increase the mining radius of tools.
  • Projectile Modules: Enhance bow damage, arrow speed, and auto-fire capabilities.

The Chaos Guardian#

The Chaos Guardian is the mod's ultimate boss, found on Chaos Islands in The End. These islands spawn at coordinates that are multiples of 10,000 (e.g., x:10000, z:10000).

Boss Behavior

  • Invulnerability: The Guardian is protected by Chaos Crystals on obsidian pillars. These crystals have shields that must be broken before the Guardian can be damaged.
  • Attacks: It fires homing fireballs, chaos balls that bypass armor, and teleportation projectiles.
  • Phases: At low health, the Guardian will flee and attempt to respawn its crystals.
  • Drops: Upon death, it drops 2 Dragon Hearts and allows the player to mine the Chaos Crystal for Chaos Shards.

Warning: Breaking the Chaos Crystal triggers a countdown. After 35 seconds, the entire island will explode in a massive blast that can kill players even in Creative mode.

Draconic Reactor#

The Draconic Reactor is the most powerful and dangerous power generator in the mod. It uses Awakened Draconium as fuel to produce millions of RF per tick.

Construction

  • Reactor Core: The center of the structure.
  • Reactor Stabilizers (4): Placed in a ring around the core (4-8 blocks away).
  • Energy Injector: Feeds power into the reactor to maintain the containment field.
  • Flux Gates: Used to precisely control the flow of energy in and out.

Operation and Safety

Running a reactor requires balancing four variables:

  1. Temperature: Must stay below 8,000°C. If it exceeds 10,000°C, the reactor will explode.
  2. Containment Field: Must be kept above 0% using the Energy Injector. If it fails, the reactor melts down.
  3. Energy Saturation: High saturation keeps the reactor cool but reduces power output.
  4. Fuel Conversion: As fuel is used, the reactor becomes more volatile.

Meltdown: A reactor explosion vaporizes everything in a ~300 block radius, leaving a massive crater. It is highly recommended to build reactors in a separate dimension.

Machines and Utility#

Beyond power and combat, the mod provides several high-utility machines:

  • Mob Grinder: Instantly kills any mob in a 7x7x7 area in front of it, including bosses like the Wither.
  • Celestial Manipulator: Allows players to change the time of day or weather using RF.
  • Dislocator: A teleportation tool. The Advanced Dislocator can store multiple locations and uses Ender Pearls as fuel.
  • Disenchanter: Strips enchantments off items and places them onto books without destroying the item.
  • Entity Detector: Emits a redstone signal when specific entities (players, mobs, etc.) are nearby.
