Overview#
Incantationem is a modular enchantment expansion designed to fit seamlessly into the Minecraft experience. It focuses on providing players with more diverse options for customizing their gear, ranging from utility-focused abilities like Telekinesis and Auto-Smelt to combat-oriented buffs like Lifesteal and True Damage.
The mod is built with a "Vanilla+" philosophy, meaning all enchantments are designed to feel like they could belong in the base game. They are fully integrated into existing mechanics, appearing in Enchanting Tables, Villager trades, and naturally generated loot chests in structures like Dungeons, Bastions, and Ancient Cities.
Enchantments#
The core of the mod consists of a variety of new enchantments. Each enchantment has specific compatibility rules and maximum levels.

Curses#

| Curse of Fragility | All Gear | The item loses durability twice as fast as normal. |
| Curse of Heaviness | Armor | Significantly reduces the player's movement speed and jump height. |

| Curse of Hunger | Armor | Increases the rate at which the player's hunger bar depletes. |
| Curse of Instability | Armor | Has a chance to teleport the player to a random nearby location when taking damage. |
Mechanics & Obtaining#
Incantationem does not require specialized blocks or complex rituals. It utilizes the standard Minecraft progression systems:
- Enchanting Table: All non-curse enchantments can be rolled using Lapis Lazuli and Experience. Higher-level enchantments require a full setup of 15 bookshelves.
- Villager Trading: Librarians have a chance to offer Incantationem enchanted books in their trade tiers.
- Loot Tables: Enchanted books and pre-enchanted gear can be found in vanilla loot chests. Curses are more common in End Cities and Ancient Cities.
- Anvil Combining: Players can combine two books of the same level to upgrade an enchantment (e.g., two Lifesteal I books create Lifesteal II).
Compatibility
Certain enchantments are mutually exclusive to maintain game balance:
- Auto-Smelt cannot be combined with Silk Touch.
- Solar and Lunar cannot be on the same weapon.
- Telekinesis and Void are mutually exclusive.
Mobs, Blocks, and Biomes#
Incantationem is a focused utility mod and does not add new mobs, blocks, or biomes to the game. It is designed to be lightweight and compatible with other world-generation or entity-adding mods. It enhances existing vanilla entities by changing how players interact with them through their enchanted gear.
Configuration#
The mod provides a robust configuration file located in the /config/ folder of your Minecraft instance, typically named incantationem-common.toml.
Within this file, server administrators and players can:
- Toggle Enchantments: Enable or disable any specific enchantment or curse.
- Adjust Weights: Change how frequently specific enchantments appear in the Enchanting Table.
- Modify Values: Tweak the power levels, such as the healing percentage of Lifesteal or the reach distance of the Reach enchantment.
- Villager Settings: Control whether villagers are allowed to sell specific modded books.
