Monster Hunter Villager Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) introduces a new profession for villagers: the Monster Hunter. The hunter’s trades are related to loot obtained from mobs, and in addition to standard items, they can also sell you a new item—the Sticky Trap. The trap can be thrown, after which it deploys on the ground and slows down enemies, similar to a cobweb.

Features:

This mod adds a new villager profession: Monster Hunter. This villager offers trades related to mob drops.

Monster Hunter Villager provides trades based on mob items, such as bones, gunpowder, or leather. In addition, they sell special items:

Hunter’s Knife:

  • Deals an extra 0.5 hearts of damage + 1–6% of the target’s max health per hit.
  • If the target is trapped, deals an additional 2 hearts of damage + 5–8% of max health.
  • Inflicts Slowness I for 2 seconds.

Sticky Trap:

  • A throwable item that acts like a cobweb, slowing enemies as they pass through.
  • More durable than regular cobwebs.

Sharpened Trap:

  • Similar to the Sticky Trap but deals damage (0.5 hearts + 20% of the difference between max health and current health).

Soul Chain Trap:

  • Pulls mobs toward the trap, slowing them without requiring them to stand directly inside it.

Trap Prototype:

  • Used to craft different types of traps at the Hunter’s Workbench.

Hunter’s Workbench:

  • A new workstation block (formerly Hunter’s Table), serving as the job site for the Monster Hunter villager.
  • Includes an inventory for crafting traps with special materials.

New Tent Structure:

  • Adds a tent structure to the world where Monster Hunter villagers can spawn naturally.
  • The tent has been improved so it won’t generate in water and is now rarer, making it more unique.

Monster Hunting Behavior:

  • Monster Hunter villagers are capable of actively hunting mobs.
