Overview#
Mystic's Biomes is a comprehensive world-generation mod originally created on July 10, 2020. It focuses on adding high-vibrancy biomes that integrate seamlessly with the Minecraft aesthetic while providing new resources for builders and explorers. The mod introduces seven distinct biomes, each featuring custom trees, flowers, and animals. It supports modern versions of Minecraft including 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, maintaining compatibility across both Forge and Fabric loaders.
Biomes#
The mod adds seven primary biomes to the Overworld, each with a unique color palette and environmental theme.
Strawberry Fields
A whimsical biome characterized by pink-tinted grass and a high density of Strawberry Bushes. It is the primary home of the Strawberry Cow.
- Primary Vegetation: Strawberry Bushes, Pink Tulips.
- Grass Color: Vibrant Pink/Red.
Lavender Meadow
A peaceful, purple-hued expanse filled with tall lavender plants. This biome is ideal for gathering purple dye and decorative flowers.
- Primary Vegetation: Lavender, Alliums.
- Atmosphere: Calm and floral.
Bamboo Blossom Forest
Distinct from the vanilla Cherry Grove, this forest features unique Bamboo Blossom trees with pink wood and flowering leaves. The ground is often covered in fallen petals.

- Wood Type: Bamboo Blossom (Pinkish-purple hue).
Autumnal Grove
A biome that captures the essence of fall with orange, yellow, and red foliage. It is the natural habitat for Deer.

- Wood Type: Autumnal Wood (Warm orange-brown).
Lush Oasis
Found within desert regions, the Lush Oasis provides a sanctuary of water and greenery amidst the sand. It features Palm trees and tropical plants.

Lagoon
A coastal biome featuring shallow, turquoise waters and white sand. It serves as a transition between land and deep ocean, often populated by Crabs.
- Features: Shallow water pools, tropical fish, sandbars.
Tropics
A dense, high-humidity biome with deep green foliage and towering tropical trees. It is more vibrant than the standard Jungle biome.

Mobs#
Mystic's Biomes introduces several animals that inhabit specific biomes, providing new interactions and resources.

Blocks#
The mod adds several new wood sets and decorative plants. Each wood type includes a full suite of blocks: Planks, Stairs, Slabs, Fences, Gates, Doors, Trapdoors, Buttons, and Pressure Plates.
Wood Types
- Bamboo Blossom Wood: A soft pink wood found in the Bamboo Blossom Forest.
- Autumnal Wood: A rich, warm orange wood found in the Autumnal Grove.
- Palm Wood: A pale, yellowish-tan wood found in the Lush Oasis.
Flora and Decorative Blocks
- Strawberry Bush: Grows in Strawberry Fields; produces Strawberries when right-clicked.
- Lavender: A two-block tall flower used for purple dye.
- Autumnal Leaves: Available in Orange, Yellow, and Red variants.
- Bamboo Blossom Leaves: Pink flowering leaves that drop petals.
- Tropical Ferns: Large decorative plants found in the Tropics.
Items and Food#
New food items provide various saturation levels and unique effects.
- Strawberry: Harvested from Strawberry Bushes. Restores 2 hunger points.
- Strawberry Milk: Obtained by using a Bucket on a Strawberry Cow. Restores hunger and removes status effects (similar to milk).
- Crab Meat: Dropped by Crabs. Can be cooked in a furnace or smoker.
- Cooked Crab Meat: Restores 6 hunger points.
- Venison: Dropped by Deer. Can be cooked.
- Cooked Venison: Restores 8 hunger points.
Crafting Materials
- Lavender Petals: Used to craft Purple Dye.
- Bamboo Blossom Sapling: Used to grow Bamboo Blossom trees.
- Autumnal Sapling: Used to grow Autumnal trees.

Standard Minecraft crafting logic applies to all new materials.

All wood-related blocks (Stairs, Slabs, Fences) follow the standard vanilla recipes using their respective mod-specific planks.
Mechanics and Configuration#
Biome Generation
Biomes are integrated into the standard Overworld generation. The mod uses the standard noise settings, ensuring that Strawberry Fields and Lavender Meadows appear in temperate climates, while the Lush Oasis and Lagoon appear in arid or coastal regions respectively.
Stripping Wood
All logs added by the mod (Bamboo Blossom, Autumnal, Palm) can be stripped using an Axe to create Stripped Log variants, which can then be crafted into Wood/Bark blocks.
Configuration
Users can adjust biome rarity and mob spawn rates through the mysticsbiomes-common.toml file located in the config folder.
- Biome Weight: Adjusts how frequently the new biomes appear compared to vanilla biomes.
- Mob Spawning: Toggle the spawning of Strawberry Cows, Deer, and Crabs.
History#
The mod was first conceptualized in mid-2020 to address the lack of color variety in vanilla biomes. Since its release on July 25, 2020, it has undergone several major updates to port the content to newer Minecraft versions (1.18, 1.19, 1.20, and 1.21). The 1.20+ versions specifically refined the Bamboo Blossom Forest to ensure it remained a distinct alternative to the vanilla Cherry Grove biome.
