Random PSIdeas is a feature-rich addon for the Psi mod, designed to fill the gaps in the base mod's toolset and provide advanced utilities for experienced spellwrights. It introduces the remaining Psimetal tool variants (Bow, Shield, Hoe, Shears, and Fishing Rod), high-performance CAD cores crafted from Ebony and Ivory Psimetal, and a vast array of mathematical operators that allow for more complex spell logic.

Additionally, the mod adds utility blocks like the Psimetal Sensor and aesthetic variants such as Flowing Psimetal, ensuring that players have both the functional and visual tools needed to master the art of Psionics.

The mod adds several new Psimetal tools and utility items that integrate directly with the Psi spellcasting system. Each tool features a spell socket that can be accessed by shift-right-clicking with the item in hand.

Utility Items

• Psimetal Compass: A specialized compass that can be bound to a specific coordinate or vector via a spell. The needle will point toward the programmed location rather than the world spawn.
• Psimetal Sensor: An item that can be placed into the Sensor slot of a Psimetal Exosuit. It allows the suit to react to specific environmental stimuli or spell-based triggers.
• Flowing Psimetal / Ebony / Ivory: Aesthetic variants of standard Psimetal materials used for crafting "Flowing" versions of tools and armor, which feature animated textures.

Random PSIdeas introduces end-game CAD cores that surpass the capabilities of standard gold or obsidian cores.

While the mod focuses primarily on cores, it ensures compatibility with all standard Psi sockets and batteries, allowing the Ebony and Ivory cores to handle the most demanding spell bullets in the game.

The mod significantly expands the Spell Programmer's toolkit with new tricks and a massive library of mathematical operators.

New Tricks

• Trick: Conjure Star: Creates a non-solid, glowing "Star" entity at the target position. It acts as a light source and lasts for a set duration. (Cost: 100 Psi)
• Trick: Detonate Charge: Remotely detonates any active Psi charges placed by the caster. (Cost: 50 Psi)
• Trick: Pulse Redstone: Creates a momentary redstone pulse at the target location. (Cost: 50 Psi)
• Trick: Greater Infusion: An advanced version of the Infusion trick used for automating the creation of Ebony and Ivory Psimetal.
• Trick: Particle Trail: Creates a visual trail of particles between two vectors. (Cost: 10 Psi)
• Trick: Debug: Prints the value of a specific node to the player's chat console. Invaluable for troubleshooting complex spell logic.
• Trick: Till: Tills the block at the target position, turning grass or dirt into farmland.
• Trick: Shear: Performs a shearing action on the target entity or block (e.g., shearing sheep or harvesting vines).

Mathematical Operators

Random PSIdeas adds over 30 new operators to the Spell Programmer, including:

• Trigonometry: Sin, Cos, Tan, Asin, Acos, Atan, Atan2, Sinh, Cosh, Tanh.
• Advanced Math: Root (Square Root), Log, Log10, Exp, Floor, Ceil, Round, Abs, Signum.
• Logic & Vectors: Min, Max, Clamp, Lerp, Step, Smoothstep, Map, Noise, Random, Vector Rotate, Vector Normalize, Vector Cross, and Vector Project.

The mod adds functional blocks that interact with the Psionic energy in the world.

• Psimetal Sensor (Block): A block that monitors for Psi activity in its vicinity. When a spell is cast nearby, or when a spell specifically targets the block, it emits a redstone signal. This allows for the creation of spell-activated machinery and wireless redstone systems.
• Conjured Star: The block/entity produced by the Trick: Conjure Star. It is intangible and provides a light level of 15.

Tool Spellcasting

Unlike the standard Psimetal Pickaxe or Axe, the tools in Random PSIdeas are designed for specific interactions:

1. The Bow: The spell is cast the moment the arrow is released. This can be used to imbue arrows with explosive force or tracking logic.
2. The Shield: The spell triggers upon a successful block. This is ideal for defensive spells like "Shockwave" or "Heal."
3. The Fishing Rod: The spell can trigger when the hook lands in water, allowing for automated fishing or water-based environmental manipulation.

Vector Programming

The Psimetal Compass introduces a new mechanic where players can store a Vector into the item using a spell. Once stored, the compass needle dynamically updates to point toward that 3D coordinate, making it a powerful tool for navigation and waypoint management.

Most items are crafted using the standard Crafting Table, utilizing Psimetal Ingots and base Minecraft materials.
