Simply Wool Resource Pack (1.20.4, 1.19.4) will change the texture of wool. Specifically, it will make it a much simpler texture (being one color outlined by the same color but darker) but a much better design. With the installation of Optifine, it also makes the wool and carpet to have connected textures which looks very good and neat. That feature can be easily toggled on and off in the Optifine settings.
