Overview#
Super Block World is a comprehensive content mod for Minecraft that seamlessly integrates the universe of Super Mario into the game. It adds a new dimension known as the Mushroom Kingdom, accessible through a unique progression system involving boss fights and warp paintings. The mod features a wide array of functional blocks like Warp Pipes and Trampolines, iconic power-ups such as the Fire Flower and Super Mushroom, and a diverse roster of mobs including Goombas, Koopas, and the boss Boom Boom.
Getting Started#
Entering the Mushroom Kingdom
To begin your journey, you must locate a Brick Fortress in the Overworld. These castle-like structures typically generate in Plains or Desert biomes. Inside the fortress, you will encounter the mini-boss Boom Boom.
- Defeat Boom Boom: Upon defeat, he drops a Power Star.
- Activate the Painting: Locate the Warp Painting at the back of the fortress and right-click it with the Power Star. The painting will begin to glow purple.
- Warp: Jump into the activated painting to be transported to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Returning to the Overworld
Warp Paintings are one-way portals. To return home, you must find another Brick Fortress within the Mushroom Kingdom and repeat the process, or craft your own Warp Painting using Subcon Threads dropped by Shy Guys.

Materials
- Bronze Ingot: Smelted from Bronze Ore; used for pipes and mechanical blocks.
- Star Bits: Dropped by Lumas and Star Clusters. Used as currency and crafting material for Warp Links.
- Subcon Thread: Dropped by Shy Guys; essential for Warp Paintings.
Functional Blocks#
Warp Pipes
Warp Pipes allow for instantaneous travel between two points. They come in 16 colors.
- Usage: Place two pipes, then use a Warp Link to connect them. To travel, stand on the pipe and Crouch.
- Linking: Right-click the first pipe with a Warp Link to set the source, then right-click the second pipe to complete the connection.
Other Functional Blocks
- ? Block (Question Mark Block): Can be hit from below or broken to reveal coins or power-ups.
- Trampoline: Launches players and mobs high into the air. Crouching while landing increases the bounce height.
- Flagpole: A climbable block used for decoration or navigation. Interacting with the flag allows it to be raised or lowered.
- Rainbow Tiles: Decorative blocks that cycle through colors and emit light.
- Launch Star: Created by feeding a Hungry Luma; flings the player across long distances.
Crafting Recipes#
| Result | Ingredients | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Warp Pipe | 6 Bronze Ingots + 1 Ender Pearl + 1 Dye | Creates a pipe of the corresponding dye color. |

| Warp Painting | 1 Painting + 7 Subcon Threads | A craftable portal to the Mushroom Kingdom. |
| Trampoline | 4 Mushroom Blocks + 2 Sticks | A bouncy block for vertical mobility. |
| Flag | 2 Bronze Ingots + 1 Wool Block | The top section of a flagpole. |
| Flagpole | 3 Bronze Ingots | The climbable base for a flag. |
| Rainbow Tiles | 4 Star Bits (Different Colors) | A color-changing decorative light source. |
Mechanics#
Stomping
Players can damage most Mario-themed mobs by landing on their heads. This mechanic is significantly enhanced by wearing Jump Boots, which increase the damage dealt and allow for a higher bounce after a successful stomp.
Pipe Navigation
Currently, Warp Pipes only function when placed vertically (upright). They require a clear space above the destination pipe for the player to exit safely. Connected pipes will emit ender-like particles to indicate they are active.
Luma Feeding
Hungry Lumas appear with a number above their heads indicating how many Star Bits they require. Once the quota is met, the Luma will spin and transform into a Launch Star. Launch Stars are one-way and will propel the player in the direction they are facing upon entry.
