Overview#

Tinkers' Complement is a modular expansion for Tinkers' Construct 1.12.2 designed to provide features that bridge the gap between early-game survival and mid-game automation. It introduces the Melter and Heater for low-tier metal processing, material-specific armor sets (Manyullyn, Knightslime, and Steel), and the Alloy Tank for streamlined alloying. Additionally, it provides extensive compatibility with mods like Ceramics, Chisel, and Ex Nihilo, allowing players to use Tinkers' tool parts for specialized tasks.

Melting and Smelting#

The mod adds several blocks to facilitate melting metals without requiring a full Smeltery multiblock structure.

The Melter

The Melter is a 1x1 block that serves as a miniature version of the Smeltery. It can melt down ores, ingots, and items into molten liquids. Unlike the Smeltery, it does not provide ore doubling and can only hold one type of liquid at a time. It has a capacity of 3 item slots and can store up to 1 block (9 ingots) of molten metal.

The Heater

The Heater is a solid-fuel heat source placed directly beneath a Melter. It functions like a furnace, consuming coal, charcoal, or wood to generate heat. It operates at a lower temperature (200°C) compared to lava, making it ideal for early-game processing of low-melting-point metals.

Alloy Tank

The Alloy Tank is a specialized block used to automate the creation of alloys. It must be placed above a heat source (Heater or Seared Tank) and can be connected to up to five adjacent Melters or Tanks. It automatically pulls liquids from these sources to create alloys like Manyullyn or Bronze. It can be disabled using a redstone signal.
