Base Metals Mod (1.12.2, 1.11.2) – Forge Stronger Metal Gear
Base Metals Mod adds common historical metals to Minecraft, including copper, silver, tin, and lead. It also introduces fantasy metals like cold-iron, mithril, and adamantine found in the Nether and the End. You can craft standard tools and blocks from these new materials. This mod also features a new tool called the crack hammer, which lets you crush ores into powder to double your metal production.

Features:
- Adds a new tool, the Crack Hammer, to pulverize ores and double your output.
- Introduces several new metals and alloys, each with unique properties.
- Craft a full set of tools and armor from most of the new metals.
Natural Metals
- Copper: A common metal needed to make bronze and brass.
- Silver: A soft, shiny metal with alchemical uses.
- Tin: A very soft metal that combines with copper to make strong bronze.
- Lead: A heavy metal that makes fragile but high-damage weapons.
- Zinc: A metal used with copper to create brass.
- Mercury: A toxic liquid metal used in alchemical recipes, like for Mithril.
- Nickel: A soft metal used to create the Invar alloy with iron.
- Platinum: A decorative metal that can also be used for equipment.
Metal Alloys
- Bronze: An alloy of copper and tin, as hard as iron.
- Brass: An alloy of copper and zinc with a golden color.
- Steel: An alloy of iron and carbon that is more durable than iron.
- Invar: An alloy of iron and nickel that is harder than steel.
- Electrum: An alloy of silver and gold that is more durable than gold but still highly enchantable.
Fantasy Metals
- Aquarium: A magical alloy that lets you breathe underwater when worn as a full armor set. Its tools deal extra damage to water mobs.
- Cold-Iron: Found in the Nether, this metal is strong against Nether mobs and fire-immune creatures.
- Adamantine: A rare Nether metal as strong as diamond. Its armor gives damage resistance, and its tools are effective against mobs with high health.
- Mithril: An alloy as strong as steel. Its weapons are extra effective against undead mobs.
- Star-Steel: Found in the End, this metal’s armor lets you jump higher and fall slower. Its tools slowly repair themselves.
How to Use:
- To double your resources, break an ore block with a Crack Hammer. It will drop two piles of metal powder instead of an ore block.
- To make an alloy, craft the required metal powders together to create an alloy blend.
- Smelt the metal powder or alloy blend in a furnace to turn it into an ingot.
- You can also crush regular items by dropping them on the ground and then right-clicking the block underneath them with the Crack Hammer.
Crafting Recipes:
Most metals have all of the following recipes, but some do not have ores (metal alloys) and some cannot be made into tools. The metal used in this example is copper.
