Overview#
The Cyan Warrior Swords Mod (Version 3.0+) completely reimagines the combat experience by adding a wide variety of elemental swords. Unlike standard Minecraft weaponry, these swords possess both passive abilities (active while held) and active abilities (triggered via right-click). The mod features a progression system involving basic swords, upgraded versions, and complex 'Mixed Swords' created through the use of Elemental Essences and a specialized Transmutation Furnace.

Key features include:
- Tiered Progression: Basic, Upgraded, and Mixed tiers.
- Elemental Abilities: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, Thunder, Ender, and Beast.
- Transmutation: A custom furnace system to extract essences from weapons.
- Synergy Mechanics: Totems that allow for dual-wielding ability management.
Getting Started#
The journey into the mod begins with the Sword Handle. This item is the foundation for every sword in the mod.
The Sword Handle
The recipe for the Sword Handle is unlocked automatically once a player harvests a Diamond.
| Item | Ingredients | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Sword Handle | 1 Stick, 1 Iron Ingot, 1 Diamond | The base component for all elemental swords. |
Once the Sword Handle is crafted, the recipes for all Basic Swords will appear in the vanilla Minecraft recipe book. It is highly recommended to use a recipe viewer mod like JEI (Just Enough Items) to track the various upgrade paths and mixed recipes as they are extensive.
Basic and Upgraded Swords#
Basic swords are the first elemental weapons a player can craft. Once a basic sword is crafted, its Upgraded version recipe is unlocked. Note that in version 3.0+, the third-tier swords from older versions of the mod have been removed in favor of the Mixed Sword system.
Sword Tiers and Stats
| Element | Basic Sword | Upgraded Sword | Primary Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Earth | Earth Sword | Wild Nature Sword | Resistance / Earth Walls |
| Water | Water Sword | Ice Sword | Water Breathing / Ice Frost |
| Light | Light Sword | Light Nether Sword | Night Vision / Healing |
| Fire | Fire Sword | Combustion Sword | Fire Resistance / Fire Blasts |
| Wind | Wind Sword | Wind Impulse Sword | Speed / Knockback |
| Ender | Ender Sword | Ender Portal Sword | Teleportation |
| Beast | Beast Sword | Golem Sword | Summoning / Strength |
| Dark | Dark Sword | Dark Nether Sword | Blindness / Wither |
| Thunder | Thunder Sword | Thunder Shock Sword | Lightning Strikes |

Passive vs. Active Abilities
- Passive: These effects are active as long as the sword is held in the main hand or off-hand. Switching to a different item slot will immediately disable the effect.
- Active: These are triggered by right-clicking. Many active abilities are destructive (e.g., Fire Blasts, Lightning), so caution is advised when using them near bases or NPCs.
Transmutation and Essences#
To reach the highest levels of weaponry, players must utilize the Transmutation Furnace. This block is essential for extracting the raw elemental power from swords.
Transmutation Furnace
The Transmutation Furnace functions similarly to a standard furnace but is specifically designed to process swords into Elemental Essences. It accepts standard furnace fuels (Coal, Wood, etc.).

Elemental Essences
By smelting a Basic or Upgraded sword in the Transmutation Furnace, you receive the corresponding Essence. These essences are used as crafting ingredients for Mixed Swords.
- Available Essences: Earth, Water, Light, Fire, Wind, Ender, Beast, Dark, and Thunder Essences.
Mixed Swords#
Mixed Swords are powerful weapons that combine the properties of two or more elements. These are crafted using a Sword Handle, Iron Ingots, and multiple Elemental Essences.
| Mixed Sword | Elements Combined | Unique Properties |
|---|---|---|
| Peaceful Nature | Earth + Water | High sustainability and defense. |
| Meteor Sword | Fire + Earth | Spawns explosive projectiles. |
| Thunderstorm | Thunder + Water | Massive AOE lightning damage. |
| Meteoric Thunderstorm | Fire + Earth + Thunder | The ultimate destructive weapon. |
| Ender Fire | Ender + Fire | Teleports enemies and sets them ablaze. |
| Time Sword | Light + Dark | Manipulates mob movement speed. |
| Steam Sword | Fire + Water | High knockback and fire damage. |
| Atlantis Sword | Water + Light | Optimized for underwater combat. |

The Cyan Sword#
The Cyan Sword is the namesake of the mod and represents the pinnacle of raw power. While it lacks the flashy active abilities of the elemental swords, it compensates with the highest base damage and attack speed in the mod.
- Strategy: The Cyan Sword is best used in conjunction with a Synergy Totem. By holding the Cyan Sword in the main hand for raw damage and an elemental sword in the off-hand for utility, players can achieve maximum combat efficiency.
Totems and Mechanics#
To manage the powerful abilities of these swords, the mod introduces Totems that can be kept in the inventory to toggle functionality.
Ability Totem
- Function: While in the inventory, right-clicking this item disables all active abilities on all swords. This is useful for preventing accidental environmental damage while inside a base or village.
Synergy Totem
- Function: This is an advanced version of the Ability Totem.
- Shift + Right Click: Disables active abilities.
- Right Click: Enables active abilities for swords held in both hands simultaneously, allowing for dual-wielding ability combos.
Dual Wielding (The 'F' Key)
Players can use the vanilla 'F' key to swap swords between hands. If a sword is in the off-hand and a non-sword item (like food) is in the main hand, right-clicking will still trigger the sword's active ability unless disabled by a totem.
Gameplay Tips#
- Enchanting: All swords in this mod are fully enchantable. It is highly recommended to apply Mending and Unbreaking III to high-tier Mixed Swords or the Cyan Sword due to their high crafting cost.
- Environmental Awareness: Fire and Thunder swords can easily burn down wooden structures or kill friendly NPCs during a raid. Always keep an Ability Totem handy to 'safety' your weapons.
- Inventory Management: Keep an active slot empty. Because passive abilities trigger just by holding the sword, having an empty slot allows you to quickly 'turn off' effects like Speed or Night Vision when they are not needed.
