Horse Buff 9minecraft Mod (26.2) – Ride Horses Across Any Terrain

Horse Buff 9minecraft Mod does not add anything to the game. It takes things away – specifically, the handful of horse behaviours that have annoyed riders for years – and leaves horses feeling like the mount they were always meant to be.

The biggest one is wandering. A saddled horse left standing still drifts off on its own, so you come back to find it several blocks from where you left it, or worse, gone. Horse Buff pins a saddled horse in place: it stays exactly where you leave it until you get back on.

The second is bucking. A tamed horse that you are actively riding will still rear up and throw off your aim at the worst moment. That is switched off while you are in the saddle, so jumping and fighting from horseback behave predictably.

Horses can also swim now. Ride one into deep water and it stays afloat and keeps going instead of sinking and drowning underneath you, which turns rivers and lakes from hard walls into ordinary terrain. They will also board a raft, which vanilla refuses outright because a horse counts as too large a passenger.

There is a visual fix too. Armour on your own mount is drawn see-through while you are the one riding it, so a full set of diamond barding no longer sits in the middle of your screen blocking the view ahead. Everyone else still sees the armour normally, and it goes solid again the moment you dismount.

Every one of these is a separate switch. The mod ships with a configuration screen, so anything you would rather keep the way Mojang wrote it can simply be turned back on.
