Towers of the Wild 9minecraft Mod scatters tall stone towers across the world, one per biome type, each with a ladder running up the inside and a chest waiting at the top. They are the kind of landmark you steer towards from half a kilometre away – you can see one long before you can reach it, and getting up it is its own small expedition.

Towers of the Wild generates tall landmark towers across the Overworld, the Nether, the End and several modded dimensions, each with a loot chest at the summit

There are twenty-two variants and each is built from what the surrounding land is made of. The plains tower is mossy cobble and dark oak; the desert one is smooth sandstone; the badlands version is red terracotta; the ice tower is packed ice and snow; the two ocean towers are prismarine and rise straight out of deep water with only the top thirty blocks showing above the surface. Two more are ruins rather than towers – broken stumps overgrown with moss and vines, left standing after whatever they were part of came down.

The chest at the summit is worth the climb: iron, gold nuggets, emeralds, ender pearls, an enchanted book, a compass and a map, plus a glider if you have a mod that adds one. Ocean towers swap in prismarine shards and can hold a heart of the sea. If Waystones is installed a waystone generates on the roof of every tower, which turns the set into a travel network – climb one, link it, and it becomes somewhere you can come back to. None of that is required, though; the towers generate and the chests fill whether or not any of those mods are present.

Towers are not limited to the Overworld. There are variants for the Nether and the End, and for several modded dimensions – Twilight Forest, the Aether, Blue Skies’ Everbright and Everdawn, Ratlantis, and the Ad Astra planets. Each one is only generated if you actually have that dimension’s mod installed.

Features:

  • 22 tower variants that generate naturally, built to match the biome they stand in.
  • Desert, badlands, ice, jungle, ocean, warm ocean, mangrove and canopy versions, plus two ruined ones.
  • A loot chest at the top of every tower – iron, emeralds, ender pearls, an enchanted book, a compass and a map.
  • Ocean towers carry prismarine shards and a chance at a heart of the sea.
  • A ladder up the inside, so every tower is climbable without building.
  • Optional waystone on the roof when Waystones is installed, turning the towers into fast-travel points.
  • Nether, End, Twilight Forest, Aether, Blue Skies, Ratlantis and Ad Astra variants, each only generated when that mod is present.
  • Six advancements for finding the different kinds of tower.
  • Server side as well as single player – the towers are world generation, so a server only needs it installed once.
