Overview#
Earth2Java is an expansive mod designed to preserve the legacy of Minecraft Earth by integrating its exclusive content into the Java Edition. The mod focuses on adding variety to the world through dozens of new mob variants, unique flora, and specialized building blocks. Unlike simple texture swaps, these additions include custom behaviors, unique drop tables, and specific spawning requirements that align with the original Minecraft Earth experience.
The mod is fully compatible with modern versions of Minecraft (1.20.1 and 1.21.1), ensuring that the vibrant world of the mobile spin-off lives on in the core sandbox experience.
Passive Mobs: Bovines#
The mod introduces several cow variants, each with distinct visual patterns and environmental preferences.
Moobloom
The Moobloom is a yellow cow covered in Buttercups. They have a unique interaction with Bees; when a Bee pollinates a Moobloom, it accelerates the growth of nearby crops.

- Interaction: Can be sheared to turn into a normal cow, dropping 5 Buttercups.
Moolip
A pink variant of the Moobloom, the Moolip is adorned with Pink Daisies. They share similar behaviors with Mooblooms but are found in different forest types.

Pigs in Earth2Java feature various skin patterns and a unique environmental mechanic involving mud.
Muddy Pig
The Muddy Pig is a standard pig that has played in the mud. It features a flower on its head and a mud-caked texture.
- Behavior: If a Muddy Pig enters water, it becomes a clean pig. If a regular pig enters a Mud block, it has a chance to become a Muddy Pig.
- Health: 10
- Spawn: Swamps and Mangrove Swamps.
- Drops: Porkchop, Muddy Pig Skin (if configured).
Pig Variants
- Pale Pig: A very light-colored, almost white pig found in colder plains.
- Piebald Pig: Features large black and pink patches.
- Pink Spotted Pig: Standard pink base with darker pink spots.
- Sooty Pig: A dark, ash-colored pig found near mountainous or volcanic-themed biomes.

Cluckshroom
A fungal chicken variant that mirrors the Mooshroom. It is red with white spots and has small mushrooms growing on its back.

- Drops: Chicken, Feather, Red Mushroom.
- Special: Can be sheared to provide mushrooms, reverting it to a standard chicken.
Chicken Variants
- Amber Chicken: Found in deserts and warm biomes.
- Bronzed Chicken: Features a metallic, dark brown sheen.
- Fancy Chicken: Has a prominent red crest and colorful tail feathers. Drops Fancy Feathers.
- Midnight Chicken: A black chicken with glowing purple eyes, found in dark forests.
- Stormy Chicken: A grey, moody-colored chicken found in rainy biomes.
Rabbit Variants
- Jumbo Rabbit: Significantly larger than a standard rabbit. It has higher health and drops more Rabbit Hide.
- Muddy Foot Rabbit: A rabbit with brown-stained paws found in swamps.
- Vesta Rabbit: A rare, reddish-furred rabbit.
- Bold Striped Rabbit: Features high-contrast dark stripes.
Hostile Mobs#
Earth2Java adds several dangerous entities that provide new challenges during the night or in specific structures.
Bone Spider
A skeletal variant of the spider. Instead of just biting, it can fire bone shards at the player from a distance.

Skeleton Wolf
A skeletal remains of a wolf that is perpetually hostile to the player. It cannot be tamed.

Viler Witch
A more powerful version of the Witch that utilizes lingering potions and has a higher resistance to magic.

Tropical Slime
A unique slime variant that looks like a translucent blue cube containing a tropical fish.
- Spawn: Jungles and Lush Caves.
- Behavior: Splits into smaller tropical slimes upon death. It is passive unless attacked.
Blocks and Flora#
The mod introduces several decorative blocks and plants to enhance the environment.
Flora
- Buttercup: A bright yellow flower used to craft Yellow Dye. It is the primary food source and decoration for Mooblooms.
- Pink Daisy: A pink variant of the Oxeye Daisy, used for Pink Dye.
Construction Blocks
- Mud (Earth Variant): Unlike vanilla mud, this block has a "sinking" property similar to soul sand but more pronounced. It can be used to convert pigs into Muddy Pigs.
- Rainbow Wool: A vibrant, multi-colored wool block that cycles through colors or displays a static rainbow pattern depending on the sub-version. Crafted using wool and multiple dyes.

Unique Drops
- Fancy Feather: Dropped by Fancy Chickens. Used in high-tier fletching or for decorative crafting.
- Horn: Dropped by Horned Sheep. Can be used as a crafting ingredient or a decorative item.
- Muddy Pig Skin: Occasionally dropped by Muddy Pigs; can be cleaned in a water bucket or used for unique leather-equivalent gear.
Consumables
- Rainbow Mutton: Dropped by Rainbow Sheep. Provides high saturation when cooked.
Mechanics and Recipes#
Mob Conversion
Many mobs in Earth2Java can be converted through player interaction:
- Shearing: Mooblooms, Moolips, and Cluckshrooms can be sheared to return them to their base vanilla forms while providing their respective plants/fungi.
- Mud Bathing: Leading a Pig into a Mud block will eventually trigger a transformation into a Muddy Pig.
- Hydration: Splashing a Muddy Pig with a Water Bottle or pushing it into a water source will clean it, reverting it to a standard Pig.
