Ecotones Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) adds a large number of realistic biomes to the game, most of which are composed of standard vanilla blocks and vegetation. The mod includes over 33 new biomes, along with approximately 115 variations of them. These biomes are variations of standard in-game biomes with unique features. The biomes seamlessly blend into vanilla Minecraft, making the world more diverse and realistic, while the mod itself adds almost no new items, blocks, or vegetation.

Biomes:

  • Desert: Similar to the standard desert, but with much more sand.
  • Scrubland: A mix between a desert and grassy terrain.
  • Steppe: A vast grassy biome with many rocks and small trees.
  • Tropical Grassland: Meadows with small trees.
  • Lush Savannah: A lush savanna, similar to the standard one, but with larger trees and more foliage.
  • Dry Forest: A hilly biome with sparse trees.
  • Lush Forest: A lush forest with a high density of trees and slightly hilly terrain.
  • Tropical Jungle: A tropical forest, less dense than vanilla jungles.
  • Flooded Savannah: A rare variant of the standard savanna, flooded with water.
  • Woodland Thicket: Dry forests overgrown with large oaks.
  • Palm Forest: Palm forests where you can find coconuts.
  • Dry Savanna: A reimagined version of the standard savanna with small acacias.
  • Mangrove Swamp: A mangrove swamp with large mangrove trees growing in water.
  • Oasis: An oasis biome that can be found in deserts.
  • Volcanic Biome: A volcanic biome with many rocks, lava lakes, and few trees.
  • Supervolcanic Biome: A super-volcanic biome with even more lava, magma blocks, obsidian, and rocks.
  • Hot Springs: A small biome with geysers that erupt and pine trees; the water in the geysers is blue. Geysers erupt, and placing a block on top causes an explosion.
  • Blessed Springs: A biome with geysers and hot springs that grant a regeneration effect, making it a very safe biome.
  • The Pits: Large open-pit mines created by ancient civilizations.
  • Green Spires: A large tropical biome with mountains, very rare.
  • Beach: A beach biome with growing palm trees, and coconuts on the palms.
  • River: Longer and deeper rivers compared to vanilla ones.
