Overview#

SimpleCore API is the essential library and foundation for a suite of Minecraft mods designed to expand the game's resource progression while maintaining a vanilla-like feel. Originally created by AleXndrTheGr8st and currently maintained by Sinhika, the API facilitates the integration of several "plugins" that add unique ores, alloys, and specialized machinery.

Core Plugins

  • SimpleOres 2: Adds five base ores (Copper, Tin, Mythril, Adamantium, and Onyx) and their respective gear.
  • Fusion: An alloy-focused expansion introducing the Fusion Furnace and powerful materials like Steel, Bronze, Thyrium, and Sinisite.
  • Netherrocks: Populates the Nether with six unique ores, including Fyrite and Dragonstone, along with specialized Nether-based furnaces.
  • Aesthetics: Provides decorative variants (bricks, stairs, slabs, bars, and doors) for all materials added by the other plugins.
  • Machines: Reintroduces specialized Mythril and Onyx furnaces with unique efficiency and output bonuses.

SimpleOres 2: Base Materials#

SimpleOres 2 introduces a tiered progression of ores found in the Overworld and the Nether. Each material offers a full set of tools, armor, and decorative blocks.

Ores and Generation

Ore Location Mining Level Notes
Copper Overworld Stone Phased out in 1.17+ (uses Vanilla Copper), but tools/armor remain.
Tin Overworld Stone Common early-game ore, similar to Copper.
Mythril Overworld Iron Mid-tier ore, recognizable by its bright blue color.
Adamantium Overworld Iron/Diamond Rare high-tier ore, green in color.
Onyx Nether Diamond Extremely rare gem found in the Nether. Drops Onyx Gems directly.

Tool and Armor Stats

Material Durability Mining Speed Damage Protection (Full Set) Enchantability
Copper 180 4.0 4.0 8 8
Tin 220 4.5 4.0 8 8
Mythril 800 8.0 6.0 15 12
Adamantium 1150 14.0 7.0 18 3
Onyx 3280 10.0 9.0 22 15

Special Items

  • Copper Bucket: Can carry water but will melt instantly if used to pick up lava.
  • Mythril/Onyx Rods: Used in the crafting of high-tier bows.
  • Shears: Available for Tin, Adamantium, and Onyx, offering higher durability than iron shears.

Fusion: Alloys and Advanced Smelting#

The Fusion plugin introduces the Fusion Furnace, a specialized machine used to combine two different materials into a powerful alloy using a catalyst.

The Fusion Furnace

The Fusion Furnace has two input slots for ingredients, one slot for a catalyst, and a fuel slot. The quality of the catalyst determines the size of the resulting "chunk" (Small, Medium, or Large), which affects the ingot yield.

Alloy Recipes

Result Ingredient A Ingredient B Recommended Catalyst
Bronze Copper Ingot Tin Ingot Redstone Dust
Steel Iron Ingot Coal/Charcoal Gunpowder
Thyrium Mythril Ingot Adamantium Ingot Glowstone Dust
Sinisite Mythril Ingot Onyx Gem Blaze Powder / Ghast Tear

Alloy Properties

  • Bronze: Slightly better than Iron in durability and speed.
  • Steel: High durability and efficiency, a reliable mid-to-late game material.
  • Thyrium: Superior to Adamantium; tools feature a "Zoom" effect when using the Thyrium Bow.
  • Sinisite: The ultimate material. Sinisite tools are incredibly fast and durable, and the Sinisite Bow deals massive damage with high knockback.

Netherrocks: Nether Expansion#

Netherrocks adds six unique ores to the Nether dimension, each with distinct supernatural properties.

Nether Ores

  • Fyrite: A fiery red metal. Fyrite tools auto-smelt ores and set mobs on fire. A full set of Fyrite armor grants complete immunity to fire and lava damage.
  • Malachite: A green ore that provides light armor with high enchantability. A full set grants a Jump Boost effect.
  • Ashstone: A rare, dark grey ore. Ashstone tools are twice as fast as Diamond but have lower durability. It cannot be made into armor.
  • Illumenite: A glowing ore found near Glowstone. Illumenite swords grant the player Night Vision on hit and can blind/slow enemies. Armor provides full fall damage protection.
  • Dragonstone: The toughest Nether material. Tools have over 4,000 uses, and armor provides protection exceeding Diamond.
  • Argonite: A blue utility ore used primarily for high-durability tools.

Nether Furnaces

Netherrocks adds the Nether Furnace, Nether Smoker, and Nether Blast Furnace. These machines do not use standard fuels like wood or coal. Instead, they require Nether-based fuels:

  • Netherrack: Smelts 2 items.
  • Blaze Rods: Smelts 24 items.
  • Fyrite Ingot: Smelts 80 items.
  • Fyrite Dust: Smelts 40 items.

Specialized Machinery#

The Machines plugin adds specialized upgrades to the standard furnace, crafted using Mythril and Onyx.

Mythril Furnace

Crafted by surrounding a standard furnace with Mythril Ingots. It is twice as fuel-efficient as a regular furnace, meaning one piece of coal will smelt 16 items instead of 8.

Onyx Furnace

Crafted by surrounding a standard furnace with Onyx Gems. While it operates at standard efficiency, it has a 33% chance to double the output of any smelting operation, making it ideal for processing rare ores.

Aesthetics and Decoration#

The Aesthetics plugin (integrated into the main mods in newer versions) allows players to use their surplus metals for construction.

  • Metal Bricks: Highly blast-resistant decorative blocks.
  • Bars and Doors: Metal variants of iron bars and wooden doors. Higher-tier materials like Adamantium and Onyx produce doors and bars that are nearly immune to explosions.
  • Stairs and Slabs: Available for all brick types to allow for complex architectural designs.

Configuration and Mechanics#

SimpleCore API is highly customizable. In older versions (1.12.2 and below), settings are found in the .minecraft/config/AleXndr/ folder. In modern versions (1.19+), ore generation is handled via Datapacks.

Key Configuration Options

  • Ore Generation: Adjust spawn height, vein size, and rarity for every ore.
  • Tool/Armor Stats: Modify durability, damage, speed, and protection values.
  • Peaceful Mode (Netherrocks): The EnableAshstoneGhastOre setting turns Ashstone into "Ghast Ore," which drops Ghast Tears when mined near lava, allowing players to obtain them without fighting Ghasts.
  • Machine Speed: The smelting speed and efficiency of Mythril and Onyx furnaces can be adjusted to suit server balance.
