FTB Academy Modpack (1.12.2) is a modpack for beginners designed to teach the basics of modded Minecraft. It includes quests and in-game guides to walk you through mods step by step. Players start in a school-themed tutorial area, where they learn core concepts like automation, technology, and magic. Completing the tutorial teleports them to the Overworld to begin normal gameplay. The modpack provides over 300 quests and nearly 100 pages of guides, so players do not need to search for external tutorials. Recipes and progression remain unchanged outside the tutorial area, giving a realistic beginner experience.

FTB Academy is aimed at beginners, while its successor FTB University is for advanced players, offering over 1200 quests across 28 chapters for more complex modpacks.
