Overview#
Dooglamoo Cities Mod (available for Minecraft) transforms the game into a city-building simulation where your decisions drive the growth of a thriving metropolis. Unlike traditional building mods, Dooglamoo Cities focuses on automation and economic management. You design the layout, and the city builds itself using resources collected and processed by automated industries.
Key features include:
- Automated Industry: Resource gathering and manufacturing blocks that operate independently.
- Self-Constructing Buildings: Watch skyscrapers and factories rise block-by-block.
- Economic Simulation: Manage taxes, import/export goods on a global market, and use a money-based economy.
- World Exploration: Discover lost abandoned cities, loot them for resources, or restore them to their former glory.
- Disaster System: Protect your city from droughts, fires, blights, and alien invasions.
Mobs#
While the mod primarily focuses on construction, it introduces a unique threat through the Alien Invasion disaster. These "aliens" are represented by Ghasts that invade the Overworld to destroy your city.
Ghast (Alien Invader)
During an Alien Invasion disaster, Ghasts spawn in the Overworld, targeting your city's infrastructure and buildings.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 10 (5 Hearts) |
| Behavior | Aggressive, Flying |
| Attack | Fireballs (Explosive) |
| Spawn | Triggered by Alien Invasion disaster |
| Drops | Ghast Tear, Gunpowder |
Behavior: These invaders will hover over your city and fire explosive fireballs at buildings, potentially causing fires and structural damage. They are the primary cause of the "Alien Invasion" disaster message.
Items#
The mod adds several essential tools for managing your city's economy and planning.
Coin Pouch
The primary item for the money-based economy. Placing a Coin Pouch in an industry's inventory enables it to buy and sell goods. Without a pouch, the industry operates in a "free economy" mode.
- Properties: Stores currency (Emeralds/Diamonds). Can be upgraded by adding Emerald Blocks or Diamonds in a crafting bench.
- Value: Emerald = $100, Diamond = $1,000.
City Planner Guide
An essential in-game manual that provides detailed statistics for every block in the mod, including size, food requirements, and production outputs.
- Usage: Right-click to open the guide and browse industry requirements.
City Explorer Map
A special map that can be purchased from Cartographer villagers. It leads the player to the nearest Abandoned City.
- Cost: 12-17 Emeralds.
Survey Tool
Used to visualize the connections and ranges of your city's blocks.
- Usage: Shift + Right-click a block to see its active area and linked distributors or warehouses.

World Generation#
The mod adds unique structures to the world to encourage exploration and provide a head start for new mayors.
Abandoned Cities
Abandoned cities generate in square rings around the world center (0,0). They are filled with loot, spawners, and partially destroyed buildings.
- Small City: Generates between 500 and 1000 blocks from center. 144 blocks across with one central intersection.
- Large City: Generates between 1000 and 3000 blocks from center. Up to 528 blocks across with multiple roads and Large Towers.
- Loot: Chests contain Coin Pouches, rare blocks (Glowstone, Sea Lanterns), and industrial supplies.
Subway Tunnels
Main roads in abandoned cities always generate with subway tunnels and stations beneath them. These tunnels provide a safe, fast travel network and can be found by digging under the central road blocks.
Mechanics#
The Grid System
Every industry and building block aligns with a predefined 16x16 chunk grid. When you place a block, it calculates its borders based on this grid. Most industries cannot overlap, though manufacturing industries can be placed inside Trade Buildings.
Food & Simulation
Industries require food to function. Every Minecraft day, a block has a chance to "eat." If no food is available, there is a 1% chance the industry will go out of business and drop as an item.
- Quality 0: Raw crops, apples (accepted by basic industries).
- Quality 11+: Cooked meats, bread, baked potatoes (required by Large Factories and Towers).
Disasters
Cities can randomly face disasters which must be managed:
- Drought: Water sources near Farms may disappear.
- Fire: Random fires can break out in buildings.
- Blight: Crops in Farms may die off.
- Alien Invasion: Ghasts spawn and attack the city.
Economy & Taxes
Players can set a tax rate (0-20%) in Trade Buildings. Higher taxes generate more money but can slow down growth. Money is used to buy resources from the global market or other industries via the Distributor.
Recipes#
Most industry blocks follow a standard recipe of 4 Cobblestone and a thematic item.
| Result | Recipe (Shaped) |
|---|---|
| Coin Pouch | 1 Wool (Any) + 1 String |
| City Planner Guide | 1 Coin Pouch + 1 Book (Shapeless) |
| Farm | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Seed |

| Ranch | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Wheat |
| Mineshaft | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Stone Pickaxe |
| Quarry | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Stone Shovel |
| Fishery | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Fishing Rod |
| Bakery | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Bread |
| Carpenter | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Wood Log |
| Blacksmith | 4 Cobblestone + 1 Iron Ingot |
