Lapis had a bleak start to her story. She was mistaken for a Crystal Gem by Homeworld, and they trapped her inside a magical mirror. 9. Connie Maheswaran

On this list, Connie is the first fully human character we’re mentioning. She is Steven’s best friend and later becomes his girlfriend in the show. Though she lacks the extraordinary abilities of a gem, she is far from helpless. Connie trains in sword combat with Pearl so that she can assist Steven and the Crystal Gems in times of danger.

10. Pearl

Pearl is among the few surviving gems from Earth and has a significant place in Steven’s family history.
