The Masquerade Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) – Wield Boss Powers with Magical Masks

The Masquerade Mod adds a powerful new illager boss called the Masquerader. This enemy wears different masks, and each one gives it unique attack styles. To find this boss, you need to look for Mysterious Red Envelopes in pillager outposts or woodland mansions. Opening an envelope reveals a map that leads you to a special ballroom where the fight takes place.

Features:

• Adds a new boss mob, the Masquerader, who changes masks to use different attacks.
• Find the boss by locating Mysterious Red Envelopes in certain illager structures.
• Battle the Masquerader in a large ballroom after defeating all other party guests.
• Get a blank mask from the boss, which can be crafted into one of four wearable masks with special powers.
• Trade with a friendly Masked Villager if he survives the battle.

The Masquerader’s Masks & Attacks:

• No Mask: The boss simply runs at you with a sword until it takes damage.
• Mask of Evocation: Summons vexes and attacks with evocation fangs in various patterns.
• Mask of Displacement: Creates clones and mirror images, can cause blindness, and shoots fireworks.
• Mask of Fury: Charges forward to knock back and burn targets, and shoots flaming arrows from a crossbow.
• Mask of Arcanity: Makes potions rain down from the air, throws harmful potions at you, and drinks potions to heal itself.

Player Masks (Loot):

• Mask of Evocation: Lets you summon a line of fangs.
• Mask of Displacement: Allows you to teleport a short distance.
• Mask of Fury: Lets out a roar that pushes mobs away and gives you Strength and Resistance.
• Mask of Arcanity: Gives you a helpful potion effect depending on your situation, like fire resistance when on fire.

How to Use:

1. Find a Mysterious Red Envelope in a pillager outpost or woodland mansion.
2. Open the envelope to get a map that leads to the Masquerader’s ballroom.
3. Follow the map to the structure.
4. Once inside, you must defeat all the other illagers. The Masquerader is immune to damage until they are gone.
5. After all the other illagers are defeated, you can fight the Masquerader boss.

Configuration:

• This mod includes alternate textures for the Masquerader, masked Illagers, and items.
• These textures are turned off by default but can be enabled in the config file.
