Chilloo

The Chilloo is a fluffy, lizard-like reptile found roaming snowy plains and mountains. It is the mascot of the mod and offers several unique interactions.

• Taming: Chilloos can be tamed using Frozen Truffles. Once tamed, they will follow the player.
• Behavior: Tamed Chilloos will occasionally dig into the snow to find items for their owner, including seeds, potatoes, carrots, beetroots, and rare truffles.
• Shearing: Players can use shears on a Chilloo to obtain Chilloo Feathers. A sheared Chilloo will appear smaller and less fluffy until its feathers regrow.
• Cosmetics: You can equip a tamed Chilloo with a Sweater (crafted from wool) to give it a cozy look.

Reindeer

Reindeer are majestic passive mobs that spawn in snowy biomes. They serve as excellent mounts for traversing frozen terrain.

• Mounting: Reindeer can be ridden and equipped with a Saddle and a Chest for extra storage.
• Breeding: They can be bred using Wheat or Carrots.
• Variants: Reindeer come in several fur patterns (brown, white, black). There is a rare chance for a reindeer to spawn with a glowing red nose (Rudolph variant).
• Cloud Jumper: In some versions, reindeer can be enchanted with 'Cloud Jumper' to allow for limited flight or enhanced jumping.

Penguin

Penguins are social birds found near icy waters.

• Types: The Rockhopper Penguin spawns on Stony Shores, while the Chinstrap Penguin is found in Frozen Oceans.
• Boat Mechanic: If you feed a penguin fish while you are in a boat, it will swim alongside you and significantly increase the boat's speed.

Truffles and Food

Truffles are the core culinary addition of the mod, primarily obtained through Chilloo digging.

• Truffle: A food item used in various recipes. Can be eaten raw for moderate hunger restoration.
• Frozen Truffle: A chilled variant used specifically for taming Chilloos.
• Truffle Muffin: A crafted food item that provides high saturation.
• Chocolate Truffle Cake: A large, placeable cake that can be eaten in multiple slices, similar to vanilla cake but with better nutritional value.

The Mug System

The mod introduces a functional Mug for holding hot drinks.

• Empty Mug: Crafted using 3 Bricks in a 'V' shape. It cannot be placed but serves as a container.
• Mug of Milk: Created by combining an Empty Mug with a Milk Bucket.
• Chocolate Milk: Combine a Mug of Milk with Cocoa Beans. Consuming it grants Speed and Regeneration for a short duration.
• Truffle Hot Chocolate: Combine Chocolate Milk with a Truffle. This 'ultimate' drink provides significantly longer durations of Speed and Regeneration.

Decorative and Functional Blocks

Frozen Up adds several blocks to enhance winter-themed builds.

• Chilloo Feather Block: A soft, decorative block crafted from 9 Chilloo Feathers. It behaves similarly to wool.
• Chilloo Feather Carpet: A thin decorative layer crafted from Feather Blocks.
• Chilloo Feather Lamp: A beautiful, togglable light source. It can be turned on or off with a right-click and does not melt nearby snow or ice.
• Cut Ice & Ice Cubes: Decorative variants of ice that allow for more intricate frozen structures without the slipperiness of standard ice.

The mod subtly revamps the vanilla Igloo structures. They now feature more detailed interiors, including the use of mod-specific blocks like the Feather Lamp and Mugs, making them feel more like lived-in shelters for explorers.

Truffle Hunting

To obtain truffles, you must first tame a Chilloo. Once tamed, keep the Chilloo in a snowy biome. As it wanders, it will occasionally perform a 'digging' animation. Right-click the Chilloo or check the ground nearby to collect the items it unearths. The frequency of digging is increased if the Chilloo is happy and fed.
