MC-174496 is a Minecraft bug that has existed in the game since the 1.12 versions. This bug basically makes it so that a player head, when renamed using an anvil and then placed on the ground, will change its name back to original if broken. Head Name Fix Mod (1.20.2, 1.19.4) fixes this issue. Furthermore, this fix also applies to heads added by mods.

Features:

  • Persistent Head Names: Head Name Fix ensures the persistence of mob and player head names in Minecraft by serving as a server-side mod. Renamed heads are saved, similar to chests or banners in the vanilla game, addressing the issue raised in MC-174496 and providing players with a reliable way to retain customized head names.
  • Seamless Compatibility: The mod is crafted to seamlessly integrate with various other mods that introduce their own mob heads. This feature ensures that Head Name Fix adapts automatically to changes or additions made by other mods, offering a hassle-free experience for players who enjoy a diverse range of Minecraft modifications.
