Overview#

BiblioCraft is a decorative storage and furniture toolkit built around one idea: put your stuff on display. Instead of hiding loot inside identical chests, it gives you a family of good-looking blocks that hold and visually show your books, potions, tools, armor, maps and music. A storage room turns into a proper library, study, armory or workshop where everything is visible and easy to find.

Most blocks are interactive - right-click to open an inventory or text screen, and many come in every wood type and can be painted or tinted so they match your build. The mod mixes pure decoration with genuine utility: book copying, recipe-remembering crafting, area auto-mapping, and labelled storage.

Bookcases & Shelves#

The signature blocks of the mod store small items and show each one on the shelf.

  • Bookcase - holds up to 16 books, written books, enchanted books, potions or other small items. Each slot is visible on the front face, so you can read your collection at a glance. Available in every wood type.
  • Fancy Bookcase - a more ornate version with the same 16-slot display, for show-piece libraries.
  • Shelf - an open shelf that displays a row of stored items as physical models on the block.
  • Potion Shelf - a dedicated rack that shows off stored potions, splash potions and bottles.
  • Disc Rack - organizes and displays music discs.

Right-click a bookcase or shelf to open its inventory; the stored items immediately appear on the block for everyone to see.

Display & Storage#

Blocks for presenting prized items and keeping gear organized:

  • Display Case - a glass-topped case that shows a single item, tool or trophy. Comes as a flat table case and a wall-mounted version; items can be rotated for the best angle.
  • Armor Stand - poses and stores a full set of armor plus a held weapon or shield. Great for showing matched sets or keeping spare kits ready.
  • Tool Rack - mounts on a wall and holds tools, weapons or items, displaying each as a model. Right-click with an item to hang it.
  • Framing Table - build and customize decorative frames used by several display blocks.

These blocks keep gear accessible and turn equipment into part of the room's decoration.

Desk & Writing#

A suite of blocks for the study, focused on books, notes and maps:

  • Writing Desk - a workstation with storage for paper and books and a surface for writing and copying.
  • Typewriter - lets you write the text of a book quickly at a desk.
  • Printing Press / Printing Table - copies written books and maps. Load an original plus blank books or paper to mass-produce duplicates - ideal for sharing guides or distributing the same map.
  • Clipboard - a held item for keeping a checklist or notes you can edit anywhere.
  • Slotted Book - a book that stores item references and notes, handy for recording recipes.

Together these make book and map duplication easy instead of writing everything by hand.

Atlas & Maps#

BiblioCraft expands Minecraft's mapping with bigger, mounted and automatic maps:

  • Atlas - a held book that automatically maps the area as you explore, building a multi-page atlas you can flip through. It can also store and switch between regular maps.
  • Map Frame - mounts a map flat on a wall for display.
  • Big Maps / tiled maps - place several map frames in a grid to combine individual maps into one large continuous wall map of your world.

The atlas means you no longer have to craft and manage dozens of separate map items to keep track of where you've been.

Functional Crafting#

Blocks that improve day-to-day crafting and organization:

  • Fancy Crafter - a crafting station that remembers the last recipe and lets you repeat it, so you can re-craft the same item again and again without re-laying the grid.
  • Label - a small sign you attach to a chest or storage block to name it and display an icon of what's inside, making big storage walls easy to scan.
  • Tag - names individual items so stacks and tools are clearly identified.

The label and tag system is the backbone of a tidy, searchable storage room.

Lighting & Time#

Ambient and informational blocks:

  • Lantern - a hanging or standing light source.
  • Swinging Lantern - a lantern that sways, adding motion and atmosphere.
  • Table Lamp / Desk Lamp - decorative light for desks and shelves; several styles fit different rooms.
  • Clock - always shows the current in-game time of day.
  • Calendar - tracks and displays the in-game day count.

These finish a room with both light and at-a-glance information about the time and date.

Customization & Tips#

  • Wood variants - most wooden blocks (bookcases, shelves, desks) come in every wood type, so they match the timber you build with.
  • Paint and tint - many blocks can be coloured to coordinate with a room's palette.
  • Right-click to use - interactive blocks open their inventory or text screen when right-clicked; sneak-right-click is sometimes used for an alternate action like rotating a displayed item.
  • Plan a library wall - line bookcases and potion shelves along a wall and add labels so every stored item is visible and findable.
  • Mass-copy guides - use the printing press to duplicate a written guidebook or a key map for friends or for multiple bases.
  • Auto-map first - carry an atlas from the start of an expedition so the world fills in on its own.

FAQ#

Do bookcases really show the books I store? Yes. Each stored book, potion or small item appears as a model on the block's face, so the contents are visible without opening it.

Can I copy a written book or a map? Yes - the printing press / printing table duplicates written books and maps when you supply blank books or paper.

What does the atlas do? It auto-maps the area as you walk, building a flippable, multi-page map book, and can hold your other maps too.

How do I keep large storage organized? Use labels on chests to name them and show an icon of the contents, and tags to name individual items.

Can the blocks match my build? Most come in every wood type and many can be painted or tinted to fit your colour scheme.

What is the fancy crafter for? It remembers a recipe so you can repeat the same craft quickly without re-arranging the grid each time.
