If you have ever played survival Minecraft, you would know how important light sources like torches are. If you want to go mining, you will need torches to see clearly and avoid mobs. But placing torches every now and then can be an inconvenience. If this resonates with you, NightVision Mod (1.20.4, 1.19.4) is for you. This mod adds a toggle that you can use to give you the night vision effect. With this effect on you, all blocks will appear to have a light level of seven, which is the maximum. This does not affect mob spawning mechanics in any way. By default, the hotkey to enable/disable the night vision is the N key. But this can be changed according to your preference in the keybind settings. It is important to keep in mind that this mod may not function properly with some shaders as they bypass the lightmap code that NightVision deals with. But as long as shaders are disabled, you would have nothing to worry about. The screenshots below show some scenarios with night vision OFF versus the same scene with night vision ON.
