Golden Age Combat Mod restores the classic ability to block with a sword, just like in older versions of Minecraft-but with useful modern enhancements.
Features:
- No Attack Cooldown: No delay-spam clicking is back.
- Sword Blocking Returns: Block with swords in either hand, reducing damage by 50%.
- Critical Hits While Sprinting: Sprinting no longer disables crits.
- Knockback Rework: Airborne knockback behaves like in 1.8-targets fly farther.
- Fishing Rod Combat: Rods deal knockback and take less durability damage.
- Snowballs & Eggs: Now deal knockback to players.
- Inflated Hitboxes: Targets are easier to hit with a 10% size increase.
- Old Animations Restored:
- Bow/potion/food punching
- Sword block pose in third-person
- Lost hearts no longer flash
Combat Tweaks & Extras:
- Golden Apples: Enchanted variants give their original effects (e.g. regeneration).
- Health Regeneration: Saturation-based regen is nerfed for balance.
- Sweep Attacks: Require the Sweeping Edge enchantment and deal reduced damage.
- Projectile Immunity Removed: Multishot and rapid hits work properly.
- Hit Through Grass: Tall grass and non-solid blocks no longer block attacks.
- Extended Reach: Swords, hoes, and tridents have increased attack range.
