Better Desert Temples Mod rebuilds the plain vanilla desert temple into a full pyramid worth raiding. The new layout runs over several floors and hides puzzles, traps and parkour sections instead of one small pit of TNT. A pharaoh waits at the end as the final fight, and the loot at the bottom is a big step up from the vanilla chest. Every player inside the temple carries mining fatigue until that fight is won, so digging straight through the walls is off the table.

Features:

  • Rebuilds every desert temple in the world as a much larger pyramid with new rooms.
  • Fills the temple with puzzles, traps and parkour sections to work through.
  • Hands out much better loot than the vanilla temple for clearing it.
  • Puts a pharaoh at the end of the temple as the last fight.
  • Gives mining fatigue to everyone inside the temple by default, then lifts it in that temple for good once the pharaoh is dead.
  • Lets you turn the mining fatigue off in the config file.
  • Lets you bring vanilla desert temples back so both kinds spawn side by side.
  • Needs YUNG’s API in place to run.
  • Sits well next to other world generation mods, including the rest of the YUNG structures and Repurposed Structures.

How to Use:

  1. Find a desert temple in any desert. The mod takes over the vanilla ones, so every temple you run into is the new version.
  2. Expect mining fatigue the moment you walk inside, and bring gear for fighting rather than a plan to dig through walls.
  3. Work through the puzzle rooms, traps and parkour to reach the bottom of the pyramid.
  4. Beat the pharaoh to clear the temple. The mining fatigue in that temple is gone for good afterwards.
  5. Open the config file if you would rather play without the mining fatigue, or if you want vanilla temples to keep spawning too.
