Basic Weapons Mod (1.21.10, 1.20.1) – Adding 5 New Weapon Types
Basic Weapons Mod (1.21.10, 1.20.1) is a mod that adds five new types of melee weapons beyond the sword and axe. These five new weapons can be crafted with wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, and Netherite. The five new weapons added by this mod are the hammer, dagger, staff, spear, and club. Each of these new weapons is balanced in terms of damage, attack speed, crafting costs, and special effects. Although not necessary to use this mod, the new weapons it adds have full integration with the Better Combat Mod, so both mods can work perfectly together and increase possibilities thanks to the functionalities this mod adds.
Features:
- Spear: A long-range weapon that deals piercing damage. Spears can also be thrown, dealing less damage but potentially hitting multiple enemies.
- Quarterstaff: A versatile weapon that can be used for both melee and ranged attacks. Quarterstaffs have a slower attack speed than other weapons, but they deal more damage and can hit multiple enemies at once.
- Dagger: A small, fast weapon that deals bleeding damage. Daggers are ideal for dealing quick damage to enemies, but they have a shorter reach than other weapons.
- Club: A heavy weapon that deals blunt damage. Clubs have a slower attack speed than other weapons, but they deal more damage and can knock enemies back.
- Hammer: A powerful weapon that deals crushing damage. Hammers have a very slow attack speed, but they deal the most damage of any weapon and can break blocks.

Basic Weapons works well as a drop-in mod to spice up the weapon variety in your adventures, but it plays especially well when paired with Better Combat.
With Better Combat installed, quarterstaves receive exciting new attack combos, daggers and clubs can be paired with other weapons for dual-wielding mayhem, and the hammer even features a fully custom attack animation.
If any of this sounds interesting to you, I recommend you try the two mods out together. Better Combat can take some getting used to at first, but it’s well worth your time investment in the long term, bringing a new layer of strategy and fun to your weapon choices and fights.
