If you love Minecraft but wish you had more weapons to choose from, this addon is for you! Improvised Guns Addon (1.20) adds five new guns that work well with the Minecraft style and can be used and crafted in survival mode. Plus, it’s compatible with other addons!

The Guns

Hand Cannon

 

The most basic one of them all, ideal for encounters with common enemies

  • Damage: [12-18] (Randomized)
  • Range: Medium
  • Reload Time: 1.0
  • Durability: 200 uses
  • Can NOT pierce through enemies

The Musket

Efficient and with a good range, ideal for dealing with more powerful mobs at a distance!

  • Damage: 46
  • Range: High
  • Reload Time: 2.75
  • Durability: 150 uses
  • Can pierce through enemies

Blunderbuss

A powerful and quick gun, in exchange for a decreased range, better for close encounters.

  • Damage: [38 – 8]
  • Range: Low
  • Reload Time: 1.9
  • Durability: 180 uses
  • Damage decreases with distance
  • Can pierce through enemies with decreased damage

Double Barrel Shotgun

Very powerful, and very low range, only for players who like to risk it all with a point-blank shot to defeat a powerful enemy.

  • Damage: [86 – 2]
  • Range: VERY Low
  • Reload Time: 2.5
  • Durability: 150 uses
  • Damage decreases heavily with distance
  • Can pierce through enemies

Hand Mortar

An explosive little gun, better for dealing with crowds of enemies or for environmental destruction!

  • Damage: 64
  • Range: Medium
  • Reload Time: 2.65
  • Durability: 100 uses
  • Is explosive
  • Bullets have gravity
  • Leaves fire behind
  • Deals reduced damage to mobs near the explosion

NOTE: All guns can be repaired in an anvil using Iron Ingots, except for the Hand Mortar, which uses gold ingots.

How To Use Them:

All weapons have the same basic functionality, all you need to use them is to have their respective type of ammo in your inventory and the guns will do the rest.

 

Once you have the necessary ammo type for your gun, all you need to do is use your gun, and it will shoot the projectile. It is also worth noting that all guns have a set durability and can be repaired in an anvil using iron ingots.

To reload the gun you don’t have to do anything, when the gun is shot it will immediately reload as shown in the following images:

Obtaining the guns

  • To be able to craft all of the items in this addon, you will need to use a new crafting table added with it, the Firearm Forger:

  • Once you’ve made the Firearm Forger, all you need to do is place it down, interact with it, and it will show you a menu similar to that of the villagers:

  • This menu is where you can craft all items of this addon mentioned before, both the guns and the ammo needed for them, including shortened stats for every gun. Making use of the table to craft any item will also grant the player a small amount of XP per item made.

The shadow guns

  • If you think the power of these firearms alone isn’t enough, if you feel like you need more power for your needs, this Add-On also has a solution for you…
  • Introducing the Shadow Guns, variants of all the normal guns shown before, that behave the same and use the same ammo types, but they have a key difference: Shadow Guns can be enchanted just like a Bow, You are to enchant these with any Bow enchantment, which of course, includes Infinity

  • To obtain the Shadow Guns, all you need to do is go to a Crafting Table, and combine a normal gun with two Nether Stars, and just like that, you will get the Shadow variant of the gun, Shadow Guns additionally include a higher durability, although the amount of the weapon that can be repaired with iron on an anvil is decreased.

  • This is currently the first version of the addon so you may encounter some bugs.
  • This addon is compatible with other addons.
