Overview#

Redstone Arsenal is a tech-oriented utility mod created by TeamCoFH that provides players with a set of advanced tools and combat gear. Unlike traditional equipment that loses durability and eventually breaks, Redstone Arsenal items use Redstone Flux (RF) or Forge Energy (FE) to function. As long as the item has an internal energy charge, it will remain fully functional and will never be destroyed.

The mod is centered around the use of Flux-Infused Electrum, a specialized alloy created by combining Electrum with Redstone. The equipment features two primary states: a standard mode for efficient everyday use and an Empowered mode that significantly boosts performance, reach, and damage at the cost of higher energy consumption.

Flux-Infused Materials#

The foundation of all equipment in Redstone Arsenal is the Flux-Infused Electrum. These materials must be crafted using machines from the Thermal Series or compatible mods.

Key Components

Item Description Crafting Method
Flux-Infused Ingot The primary crafting ingredient for tools and armor. Induction Smelter: Electrum Ingot + 1000mB Destabilized Redstone (or Redstone Dust)
Flux-Infused Nugget Used for smaller recipes and repairs. Crafting: 1 Flux-Infused Ingot yields 9 Nuggets
Flux-Infused Gem Used in high-tier components like the Flux-Infused Quiver. Induction Smelter: Diamond/Emerald + Destabilized Redstone
Fluxed Gear A mechanical component used in tool assembly. Crafting: 4 Flux-Infused Ingots around an Iron Ingot/Gear
Flux-Infused String Used for the Flux-Infused Bow and Shield. Fluid Encapsulator: String + Destabilized Redstone

Flux-Infused Tools#

All tools in Redstone Arsenal have a base energy capacity (typically 320,000 RF). They can be charged in any standard energy cell or charging station. When 'Empowered' (default keybind: 'V'), the tools gain enhanced abilities.

Tool List and Stats

Tool Base Function Empowered Bonus
Flux-Infused Pickaxe Mines blocks at Cobalt level. Increases mining speed and adds a 3x3 area-of-effect mining mode.
Flux-Infused Shovel Digs dirt, sand, and gravel. Digs in a 3x3 area and creates paths instantly.
Flux-Infused Axe Chops wood and stripping logs. Can fell entire trees or clear leaves in a large radius.
Flux-Infused Shears Shears sheep and harvests plants. Shears all entities in a small radius around the player.
Flux-Infused Hoe Tills soil and harvests crops. Tills a 3x3 or 5x5 area and applies a localized growth boost.
Flux-Infused OmniWrench Functions as a wrench for most mods. Can rotate blocks and dismantle machines instantly.

Flux-Infused Weaponry#

Combat gear in Redstone Arsenal is designed for high durability and devastating power. Weapons deal significantly more damage when charged and even more when Empowered.

Weapons

  • Flux-Infused Sword: Deals high melee damage. When Empowered, it gains a sweeping strike that hits all enemies in a frontal cone and deals lightning-based damage.
  • Flux-Infused BattleWrench: A hybrid tool and weapon. It functions as a wrench but has high knockback and damage. Empowered mode increases knockback distance.
  • Flux-Infused Bow: Uses RF instead of durability. It can be fired without arrows if the player has a Flux-Infused Quiver. Empowered shots travel faster and explode on impact.
  • Flux-Infused Shield: Blocks 100% of damage when charged. When Empowered, it reflects a portion of the damage back at the attacker and can knock back projectiles.
Weapon Attack Damage (Base) Attack Damage (Empowered) Energy per Swing
Sword 7 Points 13 Points 200 RF
BattleWrench 6 Points 10 Points 250 RF
Bow Variable Variable + Explosion 400 RF

Flux-Infused Armor#

The Flux-Infused Armor set provides protection comparable to Diamond or Netherite but uses RF to absorb damage.

Armor Set Properties

  • Flux-Infused Helmet: Provides underwater breathing and night vision when Empowered.
  • Flux-Infused Chestplate: Provides high armor toughness. When Empowered, it grants the player a 'Flux Shield' that absorbs a fixed amount of damage every few seconds.
  • Flux-Infused Leggings: Increases movement speed. Empowered mode allows for faster sprinting and step-assist (walking up full blocks).
  • Flux-Infused Boots: Negates fall damage by consuming RF. Empowered mode allows for a 'Multi-Jump' or 'Flux Leap' ability.

Mechanics and Empowerment#

The core mechanic of Redstone Arsenal is the Empowered State.

  1. Toggling: By default, pressing the 'V' key will toggle the Empowered state for the item currently held in the main hand.
  2. Visual Indicators: When an item is Empowered, it will glow with a distinct red glint, and its icon in the hotbar will change to show an active redstone aura.
  3. Energy Consumption: Standard mode uses a minimal amount of RF per use (e.g., 100-200 RF). Empowered mode uses significantly more (e.g., 800-1600 RF) but provides the secondary effects listed in the tool/weapon sections.
  4. Flux-Infused Quiver: This specialized back-slot item (or inventory item) stores arrows and can automatically infuse them with RF. If the player has a Flux-Infused Bow and a charged Quiver, they do not need physical arrows in their inventory.

Blocks#

Redstone Arsenal adds a limited number of blocks, primarily for storage and decorative purposes.

  • Flux-Infused Block: A solid block of Flux-Infused Electrum. It is crafted from 9 Flux-Infused Ingots. It can be used as a high-tier beacon base or for compact storage. It emits a light level of 7.
  • Flux-Infused Nugget Block: A decorative block crafted from 9 Flux-Infused Nuggets.

Configuration#

The mod offers extensive configuration options via the redstone_arsenal-client.toml and redstone_arsenal-server.toml files. Server administrators can adjust:

  • Energy Capacity: Change the maximum RF storage for every tool and armor piece.
  • Energy Usage: Adjust the cost per swing/block broken for both standard and empowered modes.
  • Tool Power: Modify the base damage and mining speeds.
  • Empowered Multipliers: Scale how much more effective tools become when empowered.
  • Enable/Disable Items: Individual tools or armor pieces can be disabled entirely if they do not fit the pack's balance.
