Realistic Horse Genetics Mod adds a deep and realistic genetics system to horses in Minecraft. You can now breed horses with a huge variety of colors like palomino, pinto, and roan, all based on real-world biology. Don’t worry if you’re new to genetics; just breed the colors you like, and you might get more of them, or even discover a surprise color from hidden genes. This mod also makes breeding for stats like speed, health, and jump height more rewarding than in the base game. You can even breed for different sizes, from tiny miniature horses to large draft horses. Be careful not to inbreed your horses too much, as this can limit their potential.

Features:

Introduces a genetics system that controls a horse’s color, size, speed, health, and jump height.
Adds many new, realistic horse coat colors and patterns.
Includes donkeys, mules, and hinnies in the genetics system.
Gives horses genders, with stallions being able to breed more often than mares.
Adds Netherite horse armor for extra protection.
Allows you to place a carpet in the horse armor slot to act as a decorative saddle cloth.
Horses found in village pens have a chance to spawn already tamed and saddled.
There is a very small chance for random gene mutations, similar to vanilla Minecraft.

How to Use:

Check Genetics: Right-click a tamed horse with a book to open the Breeder’s Guidebook. This book shows you detailed information about the horse’s stats and color genes.
Sterilize a Horse: You can craft a Potion of Infertility by brewing an Awkward Potion with a Poisonous Potato. Use this potion on a stallion to turn it into a gelding, or on a non-pregnant mare to sterilize it.

Configuration:

Many features can be turned on or off in the mod’s configuration file:

Ground Tie: You can enable a feature that makes saddled horses stand still.
Gradual Growth: Foals can be set to grow up gradually instead of instantly becoming adults.
Growth Time: Change how long it takes for a foal to become an adult.
Breeding Foods: Allows you to use hay to breed horses as an alternative to golden carrots.
Vanilla Stats: You can switch back to the vanilla system for horse stats if you prefer.
