Stupid Things is a miscellaneous content mod that introduces a wide variety of items and blocks that range from highly functional to completely absurd. While the mod's name suggests a lack of utility, many of the additions provide unique mechanics such as gravity manipulation, automated environmental control, and specialized weaponry.

The mod is designed to be explored in-game via a dedicated catalog system, and almost every item can be toggled via the configuration file to suit specific gameplay needs.

The Item Catalog is the central hub for all information regarding the mod. It serves as an interactive encyclopedia that lists every item currently enabled in the mod.

• Crafting: Combine a standard Book and a Block of Dirt in any crafting grid.
• Usage: Right-clicking with the catalog open allows you to browse items.
• Tooltips: While hovering over an item in the catalog (or your inventory), you can hold Shift for a detailed description of its function and Ctrl to view its crafting recipe.

The mod adds several pieces of wearable gear that grant the player unique abilities or aesthetic changes.

Propeller Hat

The Propeller Hat is a utility helmet that grants the player flight-like capabilities.

• Ability: Pressing the jump key repeatedly allows for fast ascension. While falling, the player experiences slow descension, effectively negating fall damage if used correctly.
• Crafting: Leather Cap surrounded by Feathers and various dyes (Rose Red, Dandelion Yellow, Lapis Lazuli, and Cactus Green).

Reverse Gravity Boots

These boots allow the player to walk on the ceiling by flipping their personal gravity.

• Ability: When equipped, the player's gravity is inverted. This allows for unique traversal and building opportunities.
• Crafting: Iron Boots, Ender Pearl, and a Ghast Tear.

Invisible Armor

Invisible Armor provides the protection stats of Iron Armor but remains completely unseen on the player model. This is ideal for players who wish to maintain their skin's appearance while remaining protected.

Anvil Backpack

A heavy backpack that provides a portable anvil interface.

• Effect: While worn, the player is significantly slowed due to the weight. However, it allows for on-the-go item repairs and enchanting.

Paper Bag Hat

A simple cosmetic item made from Paper. It provides half an armor bar and obscures the player's face, featuring small eye-holes for the wearer to see through.

Cactus Sword

A double-edged weapon that deals 6 damage per hit. However, due to its prickly nature, it deals 1 heart of damage to the wielder every time they strike an enemy.

Balloons

Balloons come in 16 different colors and can be released into the world.

• Standard Balloons: Float upwards when placed.
• Water/Lava Balloons: These can be thrown like projectiles. Upon impact, they place a source block of Water or Lava, respectively.

Pocket Sand and Smoke Bombs

These are tactical items used for disorientation.

• Pocket Sand: Thrown at entities to inflict the Blindness effect.
• Smoke Bomb: Creates a large, dense cloud of smoke particles upon impact, obscuring vision in a wide area.

Rubber Chicken

A classic gag item. It functions as a weak weapon (2 damage) but produces a loud squeaking sound whenever it is used to hit a block or entity.

World's Smallest Violin

A handheld item that, when used, plays a sad, melancholic tune. It has no functional purpose other than comedic effect.

Acid

Acid is a corrosive green liquid that is highly dangerous to both the environment and entities.

• Corrosion: Acid will slowly dissolve "soft" blocks it touches, such as Dirt, Sand, and Gravel.
• Damage: Entities submerged in Acid take rapid damage. Death by acid results in a unique death message: "[Player] tried to swim in lava" (referencing its corrosive heat).

Heater and Cooler

These blocks provide automated environmental control without requiring Redstone power.

• Heater: Automatically melts nearby Snow and Ice. It is crafted using Red Nether Bricks, Iron Ingots, and a Lava Bucket.
• Cooler: Automatically freezes nearby Water into Ice and generates Snow layers on top of adjacent solid blocks. It is crafted using Ice, Snow, and Iron Ingots.

Firing Pot

A block that acts as a stationary turret. When provided with a Redstone signal, it shoots out items or entities placed inside it.

Reverse TNT

Unlike standard TNT which pushes objects away, Reverse TNT creates a vacuum effect upon detonation. It pulls nearby blocks and entities toward the center of the explosion, often forming a sphere of collected debris.

Rubber Production

Many items in the mod, such as the Rubber Chicken and Balloons, require Rubber.

1. Raw Rubber: Crafted by filling a 3x3 crafting grid with 9 Saplings (any type) or 9 Grass.
2. Rubber: Obtained by smelting Raw Rubber in a Furnace.

The mod includes a comprehensive config file (stupidthings.cfg). Server administrators and players can use this to:

• Enable or disable specific items/blocks.
• Adjust the damage values of the Cactus Sword.
