Via Romana Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) – Pave Your Way to Fast Travel
Via Romana Mod adds a fast travel system that requires you to build roads. You can only travel between two signs if a proper path connects them. This makes building infrastructure like roads and bridges an important part of exploring your world, rather than just teleporting everywhere instantly.

Features:
- Travel instantly between linked signs, but only if they are connected by a valid path.
- Encourages building roads and other infrastructure to make travel feel more rewarding.
- The mod is highly configurable, allowing you to choose which blocks count as a path, how far apart signs can be, and more.
- Works with vanilla signs and should be compatible with signs from some other mods.
Commands:
/viaromana convert legacyPaths: Use this command to update paths from older versions of the mod (pre-2.2) to the current format.
How to Use:
- First, craft a Path Chart and a Pathfinder’s Compass.
- To map a route, go to your starting sign and use the Path Chart to begin charting.
- Walk along the road or path you have built to your destination.
- At the destination sign, use the Path Chart again to complete the route.
- Interact with the signs at both ends and use the “Add to Path” button to link them. Once linked, you can fast travel between them.
