A thirst bar that works much like the hunger bar is added by xHarderCore – Hydration, an add-on that makes water a real survival need. It depends on the xCore add-on, which must be installed for the hydration features to work.

Good potions hydrate and bad ones dehydrate, and healing itself causes dehydration. Players can drink from natural water by sneaking and interacting with the block beneath the water empty-handed, but untreated water can apply the Hunger effect, speed up dehydration and may poison. Purifying uses an Empty Metallic Mug early on, and later items include a Leather Flask, a Water Filter and an Advanced Water Filter. It uses scripting APIs, so Experimental Features must be turned on.
