A dark fantasy setting with its own bosses, creatures and lore is the focus of Arduous Journey Modpack, an addon that requires the Beta APIs experimental feature.

Players meet foes such as the Duckatrice Boss, the Duck Centipede and the Banana Duck, and items include the Dropfishsword and Dropduckhat. The world even has banana peels to slip on, Pigeon Poop and a Laser Pointer. Factions such as Villager Faction Posts, Unbound Faction outposts and Sentinel Faction investigators add story.

Other additions include the Anglerfish Boost, the Featherdrop and consumables like Ice Cream Effects and Fermented Mercat Milk. Many structures are edited, the undead roam at night, and Medusa or Centaurs can appear.
