Better With Mods expands and enhances vanilla Minecraft with new blocks, items, and gameplay mechanics. It reimagines ideas from the classic Better Than Wolves mod, but with better integration for other mods and newer game versions. The mod is divided into three main parts: a Gameplay module with new content, a Tweaks module for quality-of-life changes, and a Hardcore module for a tougher experience. Nearly every feature is configurable, allowing you to tailor the game to your playstyle.

Features:

  • Adds a mechanical power system using windmills to run machines like saws and millstones.
  • Introduces new items, blocks, and food to extend the core gameplay.
  • Offers a highly configurable experience where almost every feature, recipe, and mechanic can be changed.

Tweaks Module:

  • Makes mobs always drop their equipped gear when they die.
  • Gives mobs a chance to drop their heads as a trophy.
  • Causes passive animals to flee from players who get too close.
  • Provides a way to get Endstone renewably.
  • Allows you to shear Creepers.

Hardcore Module:

  • Changes buckets so they can no longer place source blocks of liquids.
  • Replaces the hunger system with a new “fat” mechanic that can cause negative effects.
  • Alters player movement speed based on the material they are walking on.
  • Overhauls the beacon system to encourage building multiple beacons.
  • Spawns the player within a few thousand blocks of the world’s center.
  • Divides the underground into three distinct layers of stone.
