Wearing armor in Minecraft helps reduce the damage you take from an attack. The armor absorbs a portion of the damage and negates it using durability points of the armor. The vanilla game has a cap on how much damage reduction armor can do. By default, this limit is set to 80%. This means, an attack that should have dealt ten hearts of damage will only deal 8 hearts of damage as the armor absorbs the rest. When it comes to modded armor, this limit is much lower. Armor Unlocked Mod aims to fix this problem by slightly tweaking the armor formula.
