Environmental Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) is a mod dedicated to enhancing the surface world, the Overworld. The idea behind this mod is to improve the surrounding environment, encouraging player exploration while enriching and completing existing biomes. With this mod installed, you’ll quickly notice changes across almost every biome in the game-whether through the addition of new tree species, plants, and flowers or the introduction of new animals such as deer, ducks, and yaks.

  • Blocks
    • Building Blocks
      • Dirt Bricks: Crafted from four Dirt blocks. Can also be made with a Stonecutter. Variants: stairs, slab, wall.
      • Dirt Tiles: Crafted from four Dirt Bricks. Can also be made with a Stonecutter. Variants: stairs, slab, wall.
      • Smooth Mud: Made by smelting Packed Mud in a Furnace (or Kiln if Clayworks installed). Variant: slab.
      • Chiseled Mud Bricks: Crafted from two Mud Brick Slabs. Can also be made with a Stonecutter.
      • Thatch: Crafted from natural materials:
        • Grass Thatch: 2 Wheat + 2 Grass → 4 blocks (Tall or Giant Tall Grass gives more).
        • Cattail Thatch: 4 Cattails → 4 blocks.
        • Duckweed Thatch: 4 Duckweed → 4 blocks.
        • All variants have stairs and slab forms.
      • Paths: Decorative blocks made by right-clicking grass blocks with a shovel. Variants: Dirt Path, Grass Path, Podzol Path, Mycelium Path.
      • Buried Truffle: Rare underground block yielding Truffles. Can be located with a Pig fed a Golden Carrot.
      • Pinecone: Waxable block from pine trees. Non-waxed affected by gravity. Can spawn Pine Saplings with Bone Meal. Non-waxed can be used to craft Pinecone Golems.
      • Yak Hair Rug: Carpet crafted from three Yak Hair.
      • Slabfish Effigy: Decorative statue crafted from one Mud Brick block and three Mud Brick Slabs.
    • Wood
      • Pine: Logs generate in pine trees. Can be crafted into planks, wood, and stripped variants. Planks used for standard wood items, boats, and optional mods like Woodworks, Abnormals Delight, and Boatload.
      • Plum: Logs generate in Plum trees. Three leaf variants: regular, Cheerful, Moody. Saplings drop from leaves. Planks can be used for standard items and mod features.
      • Willow: Logs generate in Swamps. Leaves can craft Hanging Willow Leaves. Planks used for standard items, boats, and mod features.
      • Wisteria: Logs generate in Flower Forests. Leaves have five variants (regular, Pink, Purple, Blue, White). Hanging Wisteria Leaves can be crafted. Planks used for standard items, boats, and mod features. Saplings drop from leaves.
    • Bundle Blocks
      • Crafted from nine items; can be crafted back for storage. Examples: Duck Egg Crate, Cattail Fluff Block, Yak Hair Block, Crate of Plums, Crate of Cherries.
    • Flowers
      • Bluebell: Dark Forests. Used for Blue Dye or Suspicious Stew (Hunger).
      • Dianthus: Marshes. Used for Lime Dye or Suspicious Stew (Strength).
      • Violet: Taigas. Used for Purple Dye or Suspicious Stew (Invisibility).
      • Tasselflower: Savannas. Used for Orange Dye or Suspicious Stew (Mining Fatigue).
      • Lotus: Red (Blossom Woods), White (Blossom Valleys). Used for Red or White Dye, Suspicious Stew (Slow Falling).
      • Cartwheel: Flower Forests. Animated. Used for Pink Dye or Suspicious Stew (Levitation).
      • Hibiscus: Jungles. Six variants. Can be crafted into dyes, used for Suspicious Stew (Glowing), and grown into Hibiscus Bushes with Bone Meal.
      • Delphinium: Two-block-tall, Flower Forests near Wisteria trees. Matches nearby Wisteria color. Craftable into dyes.
      • Bird of Paradise: Two-block-tall, Jungles. Craftable into Orange Dye.
    • Plants
      • Mycelium Sprouts: Marshes. Grows with Bone Meal on Tall Grass.
      • Dwarf Spruce: Taiga, Pine Barrens. Stackable infinitely.
      • Giant Tall Grass: Mushroom Fields.
      • Cattail: Swamps. Can grow 2–3 blocks high, produces Cattail Fluff for crafting String.
      • Cup Lichen: Information pending.
      • Large Lily Pad: 2×2 variant from Bone Meal on Lily Pad.
      • Giant Lily Pad: 3×3 variant from Bone Meal on Lily Pad.
      • Duckweed: Can be placed on water, passable by entities, used for Duckweed Thatch.
  • Items
    • Cattail Fluff: From Cattails. Craftable into storage blocks or String.
    • Mud Ball: Crafted from Mud or Dirt + Water Bucket. Projectile with no damage.
    • Yak Hair: Drops from Yaks. Craftable into Rugs, Blocks, Brown Wool, Rope (if Farmer’s Delight installed).
  • Food
    • Cherry: Drops from Cherry Leaves. Restores 1 hunger. Can be used in mod recipes.
    • Plum: Drops from Plum Leaves. Restores 5 hunger.
    • Raw Venison: Drops from Deer/Reindeer. Smeltable to Cooked Venison. Restores 2 hunger.
    • Cooked Venison: Restores 6 hunger. Obtained from smelting Raw Venison or killing with Fire Aspect.
    • Raw Duck: Drops from Ducks. Smeltable to Cooked Duck. Restores 4 hunger. May give Hunger effect.
    • Cooked Duck: Restores 8 hunger. Mod recipes possible.
    • Koi: Obtained from killing or fishing. Restores 1 hunger.
    • Truffle: Rare, from Buried Truffle. Restores 16 hunger.
  • Armor
    • Yak Pants: +3 armor points, +0.4 step height.
  • Music Discs
    • “Leaving Home” by hatsondogs – obtained from Wandering Trader death.
    • “Slabrave” by RENREN – obtained by feeding a disc to Slabfish.
  • World Generation
    • Pine Tree: Pine Barrens biomes. Growable from Pine Saplings.
    • Plum Tree: Blossom Woods/Valleys. Three variants. Growable from Plum Saplings.
    • Willow Tree: Swamps. Generates Hanging Willow Leaves. Growable from Willow Saplings.
    • Wisteria Tree: Flower Forest. Four variants. Growable from Wisteria Saplings.
    • Hibiscus Bush: Jungle. Made from Hibiscus leaves/flowers. Growable with Bone Meal.
