Fossils have existed in Minecraft for a very long time, but how many times have you come across one? They are basically structures made of bone blocks, and are meant to represent the remains of animals that have lived in the past. But for some reason, these fossils are very rare, and the rarity seems unnecessary as they have nothing much to offer. In the vanilla game, each chunk has two attempts within y-coordinates 0 to 320 or -63 to -8 underground to generate a fossil, each with a chance of 1⁄64. And they generate only in desert, swamp and mangrove swamp biomes.  More Fossils Mod (1.20.4, 1.19.4) brings up your chances of finding a fossil, and it also makes sure that fossils now generate in all overworld biomes. Fossils will also be 70% more common in deserts, swamps and mangrove swamp biomes. They will also be 160% more common in the new Deep Dark biome.

Features:

  • No Biome Restriction: Fossils now generate in all overworld biomes.
  • Increased Fossil Generation: 70% more fossil generation in deserts, swamps and mangrove swamps.
  • Deep Dark Biome: Fossils are 160% more common in the Deep Dark biome.
